Anybody else watch the NFL.... on 11:12 - Dec 26 with 2879 views | MattinLondon | NFL is quite a stop-start sport so it lends itself well to commercial interests. If you don’t want anything to do with gross commercialism then maybe watching professional sport of any kind isn’t for you.
Anybody else watch the NFL.... on 11:15 - Dec 26 with 2876 views | BlueBadger | Ironically though, the adverts are more entertaining than the actual 'sport'.

I was with you on the thread title. We have some very slow people on the forum nowadays. You just have to be a bit patient sometimes!

Anybody else watch the NFL.... on 18:33 - Dec 26 with 2531 views | Churchman | Yep, gross commercialisation. Loads of breaks, adverts and an hour’s play takes anything up to 4 hours. However, I enjoy it. It’s an interesting game and good to have on. Even if you see the Super Bowl in America the Americans will be watching, but not watching. Talking, eating, drinking, chilling out. Seeing it live in London, as I’ve done a few times is a fun day out. It also does stuff that U.K. soccer could learn a lot about, like the teams with the poorest records at the seasons end getting first pick of the players coming out of their college system. It’s an equalisation process. You still get dominant teams for periods, but by and large the garbage teams do have their seasons in the Sun.

Anybody else watch the NFL.... on 13:18 - Dec 27 with 2290 views | BlueForYou | Personally I love watching NFL & College Football. Its just very different..!! Just go to a big College game, the atmosphere is amazing. The Wembley games over here don't mirror it at all. Its a game for all shapes & sizes. I've been a Denver Broncos fan (we're not very good at the moment) since 1987, helped somewhat by living in the area for a few years. Not impressed by some of the infuriating Pass Interference calls that you get, but generally I'm a big fan of the game. The game has a long history & not everything is high tech expensive, they still measure ten yards on the field by a set of chains!
Anybody else watch the NFL.... on 13:27 - Dec 27 with 2277 views | ElephantintheRoom | Unlike the Premier League of course Personally I now much prefer iNFL to 'soccer' as Town's pretend American owners might say. It helps if you've lived in the USA and been inducted into what is essentially quite a comples game with a multitude of tactics - but you should try watching it with an open mind - far more complex and exciting that the average football game nowadays. Now if you'd asked about baseball I could have understood your arrogant indifference....

Anybody else watch the NFL.... on 17:05 - Jan 10 with 1917 views | HARRY10 | I suppose it is OK, in the same way that believing wrestling is a sport. A BBC2 documentary way back, provided evidence of how it was the sponsors and the advertisers who decided when something happened - and strangely when the question was put whether they may have some influence on the result those interviewed were rather coy - and certainly did not come out and state that there no foundation of truth in it whatsoever. So you pays your money, and you takes your choice. if men in white tights and make up, with 80's shoulder pads is your thing then enjoy - but for those outside the US it is little more than a costume drama, with enough 'stats' regaled to keep even those with autism satisfied. But to call it a 'sport', does rather exaggerate things.

So because an unspecified "BBC2 documentary way back" alluded to match fixing, it's not a sport? By that token Football and Cricket definitely aren't sports, because there are notable examples of prosecutions for fixing in both much more recently than "way back".
