I give up NOTHING I like in January. January is fooking miserable enough as it is without trying to convince myself that Quorn tastes of anything.

If you think Veganism is about eating Quorn you need to get out of 2005.

Also most Quorn is not vegan.

If someone else posted such ill-informed nonsense I’m sure you’d correct them too ;)

Any plan for full time after? Has it had any impact on your eating habits all year round too since doing it?

In all seriousness, my mrs has been a vegetarian for about three months now and I still keep forgetting. Last night I made a big bowl of Spag Bol and texted her that it was on the hob for when she got back.

Definitely eating a lot less meat now compared to a few years ago but I’ve never seen the point in giving things up for a month. Eating less meat etc over a course of a year and beyond is better than giving it up entirely for a month.

On a side issue I learnt that there is actually a carnivore diet in which people only eat meat (or 80% of their diet) The bloke advocating it was a complete bell end mind.

Anyway, happy new year to you.

Agree with this, meat is still part of my diet but I am more choosy about where I buy it from and eat less of it.

It's also my birthday month so going without meat or doing 'dry January' is just getting out of practice for the festivities and simply counter-productive.

I only eat meat or fish outside of the flat now. So my diet is probably 50-75% vegan or veggie (Feb-Dec).

I’d say I only have red meat once a month and we are having more meatless meals. We have quorn in spag bog etc. Cant see my ever going full Vegan or even a vegetarian but I do recognise that that diet is better in terms of ethics.

Same tbh, and even when out I'll sometimes opt for a veggie option if it looks the most tasty.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

I didn't even think to start doing it, but have been looking to use a lot less dairy products. Got given one of the Bosh books for Christmas, so hopefully get a few good ideas from there.

Plenty of the best dishes I've eaten, at the best restaurants, were vegan or veggie. Hopefully becoming an outdated viewpoint that meat is the only way to produce good flavour.

Pretty much enforced on me as my wife struggles to eat meat and my 6yr old is a vegetarian and doesn't want to eat anything coming from an animal.

To be honest, I don't miss Red meat and some of the stuff coming out now in supermarkets is remarkably nice.

Did have a number of Pigs in Blankets on Xmas day mind.
