'Kieran Lee has a good record of scoring against Ipswich'. A bit later lo and behold he scores against Ipswich. Why does he feel the need to tempt fate all the time?

Because it gives him a chance to scream and ejaculate all over the place if/when said opposition player scores.

😂😂 hit the nail on the head there!!

I believe a favourite of Brenda's used to be Chris Eagles... way he used to wax lyrical about him, you'd think he'd won the balon d'or....

Exactly. This is where Brenner p155es over a lot of other local radio commentators. I've heard coverage where they don't know opposition players names, let alone any career based info.

Think it was last season but one of the commentary teams oop norf sounded like the Chuckle Brothers. They were so bad it was actually quite funny listening to them. Brenner is streets ahead of most I've heard.

He’s a good commentator but the criticism aimed at him for over excited announcement of opposition goals are entirely justified. Needs to tone it way down when we concede

Agree with this.

Needs to be more in line with the "Oh no, its a goal" thing they had on Radio Orwell coverage back in the 80's/90s.

The period where away commentators couldn't travel so you had to put up with the home ones was an eye-opener into how bad a lot of them are and how good a job Brenner does in comparison.

Quite a few of them were laughably biased - every tackle was a free kick to their team, every foul was a good challenge, some even demanding the ref book Town players, calling a goal they conceded lucky etc.

Brenner's moments of excitement when either team are in the box have never bothered me to be honest - think he's just doing a good job of describing the moment/capturing the emotion which makes good audio when it's repackaged into highlights etc. It's clear just listening to him throughout the game he's fully behind Town anyway.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Nothing about growing a pair really isn’t it. If I’m listening to my team, on my local radio station, I don’t want to hear a fcking screaming orgasm when we concede.

I wouldn’t want an opposition fan sat next to me screaming in my ear hole either, same thing

I once sold a car to brenner a few years ago. When he came to view, everytime he spoke it was like I knew the guy. After about 10 mins I realised who he was and had a long chat about Ipswich.
I was impressed with his town knowledge and he was talking like any other town fan I’ve spoken to about our woes and miss fortunes.

I don't get that at all, it just comes across as a natural rise in volume & tone in the same way that you'd go "oh no Bolton have scored" if you were doing the comm on a phone to an ITFC friend.

I always say the same thing when this crops up.

I used to love the Baxter and Beattie approach.

They had the 'two fans watching their team on the radio' thing down to a T.

Out of their chairs when we scored and audibly gutted when we conceded.

*disclaimer. This does not mean I hate Brenner or want bad things to happen to him.
