Anyone watch Question Time tonight... on 00:11 - Feb 4 by XYZ
The bloke with sixteen pages of notes?
Yes… he just epitomised the anti vaxxer… in this case educated… but brain washed by information gained from social Media sources
I loved how the world leading scientist, leader in his field, tried to stay balanced…. But as the guy revealed his cod logic further… he just had to show his reaction to ridiculousness of it all
Fiona Bruce did well
Then the healthcare guests giving the human impact of non vaccination

Indeed. I did wonder about it a few weeks ago when they issued the invitation, but I thought it played out very well.
Some good points about reasons for hesitancy and some subtle debunking.
Fiona Bruce is starting to do a job that she has blatantly failed to do for the last 6 years.

Agree with all the comments on the thread to date.
Qn for those who watched: Given the clear arguments from the leading sceintist and other panelists against mandatory vaccinations (that mandating vaccines would be counter productive) for NHS staff, does anyone still believe in mandating vaccinations rather than adopting persausive approaches?

I didn't see it but open discussion was always going to be the best approach. Will have to find the time to see it on catch up. Good question too, hope a few on here have softened their views! Ps.....what is "cod research?"

That shows me that while a person might be academically in the high echelons, they can still be narrow minded and stupid. My sister is a bit like that (he said harshly).
I find it amazing that in the face of overwhelming evidence, people are still coming out with the anti vax rubbish. A friend of mine is still afraid of Bill Gates’ microchip and being controlled. But then you name a conspiracy theory and he’s all over it from Building 7 at the WTC to who bumped off Kennedy. I’ve long since given up.
I guess there are people out there that still think the earth is flat when everyone knows it’s actually a disc…….

Tell him not to be afraid. It’s been a massive disappointment. I’ve had 3 of those gps units injected into me lately and I’m still bloody useless at finding my way anywhere.

The scientist's face when hearing all the grad's bilge was an absolute masterclass in how to convey disapproval & contempt with the fractional lift of an eyebrow & a modicum of movement in setting his jaw. In another life he might have been a nationally treasured and knighted leading actor. Admirable restraint
