In his post match interview tonight he said it would be difficult to get in the play offs but didn't sound like it was the be all end all. He didn't sound like a man who had any pressure on him which is good. He also seems to be giving players in the squad a chance . Seems like a man who has come in to take stock of what he has until the end of the season and go from there. No demolition man here. The January transfer window seems to back that up too. I don't think this squad will be drastically altered come August but we'll have two or three quality additions. I honestly think he's treating his first run of games like a preseason, which I can respect. Getting to know his own best 11, best formation and reliable players will be critical if we're to continue recruiting in the summer (which we obviously need to: Norwood, Jackson, Bonne, Carroll, Thompson, Celina, and Bakinson are all maybes at best in terms of contract/loan situation).
He's done well to get results at the same time, so I can appreciate his positive pragmatism. |  |

We'll have some key personnel back soon too. Whilst Morsy still isn't quite up to the level of hype he came to us with, he's still a very good player and allows so much more link-ups from the middle than any other MC we have. I also think our squad has had a bit of complacency about them from day 1 - I think we'll do much better against better teams.
It is vital to note that the Gillingham we played today is a totally different side than under Steve Evans. Harris is playing organised football and has really lifted that team. We should still beat them 99 out of 100 times, but they ain't going to be whipping boys under NH. | |

I am sorry but this squad isn’t good enough to be in the top of this league, we need a overhaul, players who have a desire to win, work hard and fight for promotion. This lot have barely turned up and are a bang average League One side, it’s all media hype and no substance. Bonne will be gone next year, take his goals out and we’re not in a good position at all. We have tons of average midfielders though. It won’t be popular but people are kidding themselves about these. Keep Burns and Edmondson from the new signings and keep Wolfenden and Janoi and the rest can be binned. |  |

MK Dons have got a potentially tough run of games coming up. Fleetwood away Tuesday, then us, the Sunderland away, Charlton away, Bolton home, Rotherham away. There will be plenty of points dropped by the sides in the top 8. It’s unlikely as I don’t think we’re playing well enough to beat the better sides, but if we can quietly go about our business you never know. All we need to worry about is beating Donny, then MK becomes a big game with a huge following. |  |

Agree entirely - the ‘damage’ this season was done before he arrived - he’s currently doing an excellent job - he’s won 5 out of 7 whilst trying to implement his ideas (midway through a season which is difficult), whilst further trying to assess and evaluate this squad going in to the summer window for some alterations.

Saying it could be difficult to get in the play-offs could be just managing fans expectations - doubt very much that's the mentality of the management / players.
Our current form has given us 16 points out of the last 24 - IF we continue that over the last 16 games of the season it would give us 76 points which has been enough to make the play-offs pretty much every season; looking at the remaining fixtures, it is a big ask, but not impossible... |  |

Good idea, because the last demolition and complete overhaul worked out well for us didn’t it? We can’t just bin off 18 players and replace them all season after season and expect success from it, that’s not how it works.
McKenna has been brought in to get the best out of these players, to manage them properly and to be flexible with his in-game management. This squad of players is perfectly capable of challenging in this League, with a few tweaks here and there in the pre-season I’m confident the good times will come. |  | | |

The performance against Gillingham was back to that under Lambert, slow and laboured. We’d get beaten by the better sides in this league with displays like that, it’s fortunate we were playing a side 2nd from bottom and low on confidence. Good sides can win ugly, but I’m just not convinced we are a good side. MK Dons will be an intriguing game next weekend to see where we are at exactly, we play like we did against Sheffield Wednesday, Gillingham and at times Wimbledon, we’ll get comfortably disposed of. Naturally, I am hoping that KM is the answer for us managerially, but equally I’m not going overboard thinking he’s the next messiah because what I have seen so far there’s still plenty that needs to be addressed.
