Saturday's away following 16:51 - Feb 10 with 5028 views | PhilTWTD | Biggest since Inter Milan? Biggest in the league since when do we reckon? I don't think a figure for the Swindon game in 1999 was every confirmed.
Saturday's away following on 16:55 - Feb 10 with 2864 views | Mullet | Surely the playoff final is technically a league game? Although I bet we were officially the away side weren’t we? Swindon was lower wasn’t it than MK?

I don't think play-off games are ever included in league appearance figures and Wembley is a neutral venue. I reckon Swindon probably was lower looking at their crowds from that season. Our game was watched by 10,337 and their home game with Tranmere, who you'd imagine would come in a couple of taxis, was 5,726. I doubt they'd have brought circa 2,000 anyway.

That's a good suggestion, hadn't thought of that. I know only 4,000 or so went to Man U the other year.

Sure, I just mean logically it’s the culmination of the league campaign so it should be.

9,000, according to this contemporaneous report. Jewell Hoping History Repeats Itself 25th Jan 2011 08:37Paul Jewell is hoping to repeat his 2006 Carling Cup semi-final triumph over Arsenal with Wigan when Town take on the Gunners at the Emirates at the same stage of the competition this evening (BBC2 and BBC HD, 7.30pm). The Blues go into the game a goal up from the first leg, Tamás Priskin’s second half strike having seen them to a 1-0 victory at Portman Road a fortnight ago. 49

I was thinking of the earlier one. The Arsenal game was later than both - by a week or so in the case of the 7-0 - but I'll have a look anyway.

I don't disagree with you, as it stands play-off fixtures are lumped in 'other' along with the Papa John's Trophy. Although the Champions League gets lumped into it as well, come to think of it.

Saturday's away following on 17:14 - Feb 10 with 2663 views | ITFC_Forever | Biggest in the League I would say, excluding the PO Final, FA Cup Final (and semis).... Inter and Arsenal League Cup semi were bigger (both around 9k), Swindon in 1999 was 6k max, quite a few 4 / 5 thousand followings, but none bigger than Saturday I can think of. Saturday's away following on 17:20 - Feb 10 with 2592 views | bluelagos | I can't see Swindon was 7k+ Was this the game we had both ends and were like 5 up in 30 mins? Those terraces weren't that big from memory. 5-6k for me. Which leaves me struggling to think of a larger away following. (Cups/play offs aside) There can't be many bigger this season can there? Most Prem/Champ grounds give nowhere near 7k tickets to away fans. [Post edited 10 Feb 2022 17:29]

We were in great form, they were a shambles at the bottom of the table and fans boycotting, if I remember rightly. They needed as much money as they could get so they gave us both ends.

I can remember us taking 4000 to Derby once - think it was the one where Matt Holland scored the winner? Was that Brian Clough's last game?

It really should have been so many more than seven that day too; I nearly didn’t bother with the Arsenal game after that. Fulham in Feb 2015 was a lot, although no precise number here: “more than 4,000” Fulham 1-2 Town - Match Report 14th Feb 2015 17:07Daryl Murphy scored his 20th and 21st goals of the season as Town defeated Fulham 2-1 at Craven Cottage. The Championship's top scorer netted on five and 45 in a first half in which the Blues could have been further ahead, before Ross McCormack pulled one back for the Cottagers 16 minutes from time but the three points were never seriously under threat. 85

No. It was 2003. Town won 1-4. Think Clough was introduced to the crowd at the start and got a standing ovation. He wasn't manager.
