Thinks we should be aiming for a 28k average home crowd. 22k already sold for Cambridge

We weren’t far off that when we first came down.

And considering we’re permanently marooned in ninth this season, the fact we are continually getting comfortably over 20k every home game shows the fans are starting to believe something good is around the corner.

If by some miracle we sneaked up this year I have no doubt we’d easily hit 25k or 26k average given a likely uptick in ST sales and bigger away followings. If it’s league 1 and we get off to a strong start could see 23k or 24k.

Fill the ground every week? Hmmm, mind you next season if we're flying at the top it's very possible...

The problem in this league is the away following of a lot of Clubs is very low..

Need Sunderland and Sheff Weds to stay down to boost those away numbers

He said something about 40% - is that new Season tickets?
I've bought a season ticket for the first time having followed Town at home since 1987. Its the exciting football and expectation for me that made me commit for the first time.

40% of the couple of thousand sold already are new.

Getting low 20s is phenomenal for this league, but why not be ballsy and aim high? We’ve got a big enough catchment, it just needs us to capture the imagination of the plastics who fill up the ground when we’re in the PL. The challenge is we don’t have the draw of a ‘big’ club visiting. But continue to do well, entertain and build the feel good culture and who knows…

28k would be more than the capacity at Carrot Road. That is reason enough to make it happen!

A lot harder for us though as we need to find multiple families.

highly unlikely we could average 28k for season. Only ever achieved it once -

More likely to be around the 25k mark if things go well

I bought a season ticket this year because I felt Cook would at the very least improve the 'spectacle' which in fairness, he did, even in that now ever more obvious costly early run of no wins, the football was actually quite decent to watch.

McKenna has taken that to another level, the control of games is totally different and I'm no longer worrying about conceding all of the time, we're creating chances and if the core of this team stays together, then next season will be one very much to look forward to.

Not to mention the whole atmosphere around the ground just feels different/better and can only see that improving too.

I’ve renewed mine but got the kids one each.
So they’ll be included in that 41% new fans, I mean they won’t go every week, but the ST won’t ever go to waste, with them being upgraded to adult tiks etc

We’ll be good again... one day

Must be brilliant for our players coming out of that tunnel and seeing 22,23 or 24K in attendance at PR. I still feel our overall stadium capacity is too big, but what do I know?! Good on MA setting his standards high, think this is something we have lacked at our club for sometime especially from the very top.

We're getting well over 20k for relatively deadbeat games in L1 ... I think that means 30k is a perfectly reasonable capacity for where we are aiming to go.

It's fine when things are going well, it's the flip side of that when you have a 30K stadium and it is less than half full.

Nowadays we don't though. Why revert to the worst case? It's quite clear how things can be when things are going well. Or we could pen ourselves in a 20k stadium and never have the opportunity.

I think it's the glass that is half empty rather than the stadium here - it's clearly the right size for us as this season is demonstrating

Seemingly not as we've already exceeded that three times in a spluttery League One season.

Overall capacity too big? Don't think so. Seem to remember when Town should have won the league back in 1981 the average was around 26,000 and several around 30,000 although the capacity in truth wasn't that high. Due to becoming all seater the new stands were built to tie in with having England games at PR as you had to have a capacity of at least 30,000. Not sure if it was the full England team or under 23's. Many years ago we played Leeds Utd in the FA Cup and there was just over 38,000 in the ground. Obviously before Elf and safety and Hillsborough. Imagine the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd and City and even West Ham. 30,000 plus no problem. That's why I believe the ground will be further developed. Let's face it those so called boxes in front of the Cobbold Stand opened in the 1970-71 season aren't fit for purpose now and I doubt the sale of restricted view tickets is that great.
