Lee Evans 20:55 - Aug 13 with 2663 views | Metal_Hacker | Not seen too much mentioned of him after todays game but I also think he was the best I’ve see him for a while. Fitter , quicker and stronger

Lee Evans on 21:02 - Aug 13 with 2601 views | powinswitch | Last season was I not convinced about him at all. This season he has been much better. To be fair good in fact. Each game. Particularly the last two
Lee Evans on 21:07 - Aug 13 with 2557 views | clive_baker | Yeah very good game, as he was at FGR to be fair. Just needs to learn how to take a corner.

Lee Evans on 21:09 - Aug 13 with 2540 views | norfsufblue | Looks much more confident... the presence of Dom Ball in the squad if not yet fit may have a lot to do with him raising his game a notch or two. Also Wes Burns is a different player when he gets a couple of good early touches, though I'm sure that's true of many a flair player over the years
Lee Evans on 21:10 - Aug 13 with 2527 views | Kropotkin123 | Great first half. But second half he seemed to misplace a fair few passes, including the corner. He'd already done the damage with the range and vision of his passing by then.

He and Morsy really bossed the midfield today. I thought Evans was just trying to score direct from most of them.

Lee Evans on 22:10 - Aug 13 with 2082 views | have_a_word_with_him | He's come back from injury really well and I think is a quality player, plus excellent character which appears to be a key requirement for most of our recruits, been a long time since the squad had such cohesion
Lee Evans on 23:44 - Aug 13 with 1848 views | Terra_Farma | Poor in delivery with corners and set pieces
Lee Evans on 23:46 - Aug 13 with 1832 views | Meadowlark | He makes some rash tackles in dangerous places. Not criticising, just an observation. Also, Morsy never plays just one touch. Again just an observation. JD was immense today. Both attacking and defending. Classy player. Walton frightens me when he plays as the last defender on the half way line. We've seen some long range goals recently. Ref got a couple wrong, but was better than many. What was that drop ball for when their player dived? And Edmundson moved the ball with his hand after the ref dropped it. Good job he gave him the benefit of the doubt.
Lee Evans on 23:58 - Aug 13 with 1804 views | Stenvict | He frustrates me when he needlessly tries Hollwood passes, when we're trying to pass it on the deck. There was 1 in the 1st half for Burns to head, that went out for a goal kick. He does his main job of shielding the back 3 and picking the ball up off them and moving it about well though. Set pieces are shocking.

He was finding his form in the run up when he got injured. McK has been good for Evans.

Sometimes you need to stretch the game though. He gives us the option to move from defence to attack more directly/quickly. The pass in the first half for Ladapo for example to put him in on goal, superb ball. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.
Lee Evans on 08:03 - Aug 14 with 1488 views | DJR | I thought he was excellent in open play, but very poor on set pieces as he rarely got it beyond the first man. I could do better than that, and it's very strange given he is good at splaying the ball about in open play.

The long range passes into space/to feet like the one you refer to is perfect, but it's the floated ones that need to be headed that I have an issue with.

I thought Evans has covered defensively for mistakes over the home matches so far. Not particularly noticed the rash tackles. He and Morsy ran the midfield yesterday. Not noticed that about Morsy's passing. Overall we kept the ball much better than them and McKenna gets our players to play to their strengths. Agree 100% about JD. Mullet suggested Keogh could come in for him the other day. No way. If Keogh does come in it will have to be for Woolfenden or because someone is out. I felt a little like that with Walton but we had possession all the time. There was an element of "you'd better not fluff this pass" though. Agree about the ref (always easier to do so when we have won comfortably). Technically it should have been handball against Edmundson but he used common sense and re-did the drop ball after explaining it to him! Nice to see a ref use common sense.
