I hope Cook does well. However, it really wasn't working here (for whatever reasons - and one was his very public poor man management of some players). Maybe he and Gary Roberts have learnt something from their time here too. |  |

Delighted for him.
Did not work out here for him, was correct for both sides to move on, but he has been a successful manager almost everywhere he has been - I hope that continues for him at Chesterfield.

He has once said about the Ipswich team back from 2020/21: 'the mood in the dressing room is the same irrespective of results'. Hardly a surprise as I had seen a relegation without a fight and no real desire to get the club back to the Championship. Evans didn't care therefore the players settled for a nice and easy payday at Ipswich. Cook tried to change the culture and implement his own ways but the players didn't like it as they had been used to the aforementioned easy payday. That mob of shirkers would have been able to destroy McKenna's fledgling promising career.
The Demolition Job was the best thing he did for the club. Sadly the solitary one. He ought to have been sacked sooner but as a human being he was a decent man. He could have done mccarthy and shown a total contempt for the club and fans or made some derogatory comments. Instead he would always speak nicely about the club and fans.
Extremely stubborn with his ways and one formation so no surprise that he failed but wish him all the best for the future. |  | | |

Chesterfield have got the biggest wage budget in that league. He is in familiar surroundings which has bought him some time from last seasons form.
I think he will get them promoted and go on and manage in the football league again.
Shame it never worked out for us, but he has got a good eye for a player. |  |

Ollie Palmer, Paul Mullin, Ben Tozer, James Jones were all key players for their respective sides before Wrexham signed them.

A bit of silly thing to say.
Clearly didn't work out for him here, but shook the culture of the club, a tone that had been set for many years previously, removed a lot of the squad which I think was a much needed thing to do, recruited a lot of good players for this club.

Lambert was the biggest fraud going - WTF was Evans doing employing him, let alone that fecking mental 5 year deal.
I don't think Cook was a fraud, but he did make a mess of things here, and didn't help himself with the way he handled the 'phasing out' of the old squad, especially seeing as the way he did it killed the end of the season. [Post edited 30 Aug 2022 19:24]
