Normally I would have him down as a big danger, but with the fitness and movement we have I would target him to play triangles around. Class player, but shouldn't be against our x1.

Goes the other way too. Bannan is well capable of playing through our CM who’ve not really been troubled yet this season. And I’m sure he’ll have a lot of support defensively.

But should be a great battle in there. Can’t wait!

I think the game will be won through the middle... I think Evans and Morsy, as you say, are in for a completely different level of challenge to what they have experienced.

Combine with their attackers, and a massive difference in quality... well it all adds up to a very tough game.

Weds didn't turn up for the Barnsley home game, and subsequently lost, lets hope their 3-0 recent away win, gives them a false sense of points in the bag.

Sit Evo on him and let Morsy push on and do the damage. Sacrifice Evans to keep Bannan out of the game. I really don't think they've got much else about them.

Fancy Chaplin and Harness to really get amongst the likes of Iorfa and McGuinness!

It's really going to show us how far (or otherwise) we've come isn't it. Our first really big test this season. I'm really looking forward to it; I'm quite sure that even if we lose we won't be battered. But are we yet good enough to come out with a win? That would be huge given that last year we hardly got a point against the likes of Sheff Weds.

Bannan is a classy player, one of the very best in the division. However, we have classy players of our own.

In seasons gone by, this fixture would have been one of those where I would have hoped for a draw.

Our fitness has improved, we certainly have more physicality (an area where Sheff Wed would have had an advantage previously), our press is very effective, we carry a goal threat over many areas of the pitch and our options from the bench are very strong.

This is a game that we can definitely win - FWIW, I think we can achieve 7 points from the next 3 games - if we play to our strengths and take our chances.

I'm really looking forward to this one; McKenna will have the game plan and players ready!

If we can handle the quality of his passing and set pieces I think we can win.

For once I’m not concerned we are playing sheff weds and old Bazza. Too many times I’ve watched him walk around our non existent midfield, and dictate a game.
Morsy and Evans will have their hands full, but I don’t expect to see them two get played by him.
we also have Ball to call on, he could make that midfield impossible to get through

We’ll be good again... one day

Bannan is definitely their Lee Evans, and their danger man, to assume and write him off like this is a terrible take

He’s got a goal and four assists so far. He’s a threat.

He's someone who could win the game out of nothing with a bit of standalone individual quality. I'm not sure we've got that player ourselves yet and that's the only nagging doubt I've got about our ability to win tight games, like Wednesday is likely to be.

He's quality. One of those players who just finds time on the ball, and has the quality with his touch and passing to punish teams. Such a lovely left foot. He'll spend most of the game in that middle 3rd dictating play, we need to make sure we press him quickly and not give him time on the ball, but it's easier said than done. With Mighten, Windass, Gregory, Smith they've certainly got a lot of threat, it's a tough game for sure. It should be a really interesting spectacle, I love the look of our side at the moment and I don't think we should be fearing anyone.

I was suggesting he is not the most mobile of players and the fact that we are is hopefully going to nullify him. He can't pick a pass if he never has the ball in the first place.

Exactly what I was going to point out - I was at the home game but not at the away game last year, and was specifically looking out for him in the home game. TBH he did very little, his touch was a bit ropey, and was subbed as I recall. The midfield that day was El Miz and Tom Carroll, and the CBs were burgess and George (with Penney at LB)

A lot of the damage he has caused this year is in the form of assists has been from set pieces (be afraid…)

Maybe he did better in the away game, but I can’t see us setting up to “Get Bazza”
