Great draw for them. Not a bad one for us it has to be said, when you consider the alternatives. Home would’ve been nice though.

I wish the draw had been made from Bracknell rather than Alvechurch now. A lot more would have been made of the tie that's for sure.

At the real risk of spoiling the romance - does anyone think that the tie will be moved to PR?

Could have sworn it has happened in the past - I could well be misremembering though.

Different scale of things I know but Marine did really well out of their game with Spurs. Transformed things there. They got 1100 at the weekend which isn't bad for Northern Premier League.

Yeah that changed following the Farnborough v Arsenal tie in 2003.

From the competition rules

“For a tie to be played on the ground of a Club outside The Premier League or English Football League playing a Club from The Premier League or The English Football League, the Home Club shall take all necessary steps to liaise with the local enforcing authority and/or Police to assess the suitability from a safety or security point of view of staging a tie at the ground. Any such assessment shall be completed within three days of the date of the Draw (or the date at which the Home Club’s participation in the relevant fixture is confirmed, whichever is later) or such longer period as shall be agreed by The Association.”

“In the event that The Association decides not to allow the match to be played at that ground then the first alternative ground shall be the nearest ground considered suitable by the local enforcing authority and/or Police (taking into account all relevant circumstances) subject to the agreement of the Professional Game Board.”

Unlikely it will be at their ground. Doubt you could get the TV equipment down the little lane. Parking is in the town and you need to walk to it. Flood lights for an evening game would need to be hired in to get sufficient light. Google the ground and look at the pictures.

Switching to Farnborough (if possible) is 10 minutes drive away and has a capacity of 7000 with facilities you would expect of a better non league ground.

Reading at home to Preston on the Saturday, so unlikely.

Doesn’t look like it

“ In any event, the Professional Game Board shall have the power to order that any match be played on an alternative ground or date, including a Sunday, if it is considered appropriate and necessary. For ties switched from the ground of the Club first drawn, then the Professional Game Board shall determine the financial conditions in which the tie shall be played and this may include, any excess receipts to be paid into the Pool.”

More like 20000 less or if you include the built up area more like 60000 less.

Bracknell played in the same league as one of our local non-league teams, before being promoted to non-league step 3. One of their GKs use to play for us.

I went to Tranmere to see our local team in the Trophy a few seasons back and they did brilliantly despite losing 4-1 to a first/second team Tranmere side.

A lot of these players will be ex-Academy/lower league players, part-time, and will not be able to compete technically/physically for 90 mins against a professional team.

Really hope this gets selected for TV as the TV and gate receipts for this game could easily double their income for the season.
