What a on 21:01 - Feb 7 with 2429 views | TheBoyBlue | Maybe comparable to what we might expect if we were playing Carlisle United (3rd in the league below us) in a replay? Not sure what their usual crowds are.

What a on 21:10 - Feb 7 with 2311 views | StochesStotasBlewe | Burnley has a population of about 75,000 and probably doesn't garner much support from outside the immediate area so not that bad a turnout in the grand scheme of things. Don't think they often fill Turf Moor to be fair.
| We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub. |

Thank you. Reading Wikipedia (granted not the most reliable source), but apparently there is one seat for every three inhabitants of the town.

We had 8,800 for Oldham last year if that’s any help

Not a very affluent area either.

What a on 03:15 - Feb 8 with 1684 views | hatch | Whilst necking my Guinness outside the turnstiles I was accosted by two Burnley fans who said ‘fair play for making this trip on a Tuesday lads’. We then spoke to them for 5 minutes comparing ourselves as similar clubs with different fortunes. A lot of two-way compliments and misunderstandings of accents. It was how football should be. Some good experiences. Then went to the bars and ‘club’ of Burnley just now where there were about 20 die hard Burnley lads out on the piss and about 80% of them were looking for an excuse to try and deck me. I’ll take that as the classic minority and give Burnley an overall thumbs up. Including an excellent choice of pubs en route to the ground including The Royal Dyche. That’s right, a Sean Dyche pub with his face on the swing board outside.

The Royal Dyche is brilliant, renamed after the landlord made a bet that he would rename it if Dyche kept them up in 2018....

Imagine if the follwoibng towns were league clubs in top three divisions: Haverhill Bury ST Edmunds Felixstowe Hadleigh Stowmarket Leiston Then what would our average home crowds be? I would suggest closer to 15000 too.

Based on the following, Burnley is the smallest town/city to have won the First Division/Premier League, and Ipswich is the second smallest. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_English_districts_by_population

Yes but they all have vaguely credible football teams.

Scouring their forum this page seems to have a few complimentary comments about our fans, our style of play (good press), how we’re better than many Championship sides they’ve played. Picked out Hirst and Aluko for praise too. https://www.uptheclarets.com/messageboard/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=67362&sid=
