Do you think Burns has had unfair criticism this season? on 16:22 - Mar 3 by FrimleyBlue
2 league goals since october.
Fluffs 9/10 crosses
No
Not an uncommon problem for us, unfortunately. Hirst has no league goals at all (including Blackburn loan), Harness has 1 since October. Jackson 1. If it wasn't for Chaplin and Freddie we'd be stuffed.

Those being the winner against Derby and the fantastic goal he scored against Plymouth which means they aren’t 8 points above us right now?
Strangely we played other games in 4 months for him to contribute more in. But it's OK if you want to concentrate on 2 games where he scored an open goal from 6 yards and smacked a ball with his laces from 5 yards.
Think one or two have been overly critical tbh. Most games this season, Sir Wesley has had two or three of the opposition marking him. He could be more productive at times certainly, but he's playing in league 1, not the Champions League for a reason. He, and other players have been a tad wasteful in the final third at times so to single him out specifically seems a little unjust. Hope he rips Burton a new one tomorrow afternoon.
We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub.

Not been impressed personally.
Not even comparing him to last season, if he was a new signing this year I’m 99.9% sure many would be a little uninspired by him.
Crossing is poor, rarely seems to take on his man.
I think the points in your final paragraph are linked. Burns is a confidence player - I know most players are to a certain degree, but seems to affect Burns more than most. Watch him when he makes a wrong decision. Anguished face, shoulders slumped and he seems to go into his shell for a bit. He then seems to hesitate before taking on his man again, or snaps at a shot. Contrast if/when he does beat his man and puts in a good cross, his swagger immediately returns. What he needs is two or three games where he mostly makes the right decisions and hopefully he'll be much closer to the match winner that we had last season.

Personally I don't really care how many or few goals he has scored this season. What concerns me more is the number of times that he finds himself in a decent position, but shoots when he should cross, or puts in a poor cross. Although as someone else has already said, he's not the only one guilty of this.

You've got a really unhealthy hatred towards Burns. I'm not sure what he's done to you.
Whenever I've seen him, he's not been the worst player. What people say about him, a lot of other players are guilty of.
Is he as good as last season? No, but he would get in most other teams in the league.
Lol hatred. It's football. As a person he seems like a idol for all town youngsters, comes across really well and his recent social media efforts are excellent. But I'm bored of seeing him being defended based on 1 season with us and not what he's actually doing on the pitch this season.
This thing about others players being guilty of. Harness was the closest to being as ineffective as Burns since earlier in the season.. he's been replaced.
No we don't really have a better option on his side tbh. That's not imo because of how good he is but the weakness we have as cover. I'd expect a new player in the summer.

I don’t really care what you think. Your scattergun approach sometimes works (obviously). His goal against Plymouth may have felt like that from your armchair but it was much better than that in real life. And also watching it back from my armchair it was decent too.
