Lovely stuff Town 08:57 - Mar 19 with 3800 views | Dyland | What a thing innit. Walking out of Portman Road with the sun pushing through the March skies, still light, the rain having eased for a moment, with a wide grin on yer face. Can we play a prem reserve team or someone on Saturday please? It doesn’t always come off but at times it’s like watching poetry in motion. How immense are Morsy and Luongo? How sublime are some of our passages of play? If it’s all too late to secure autos, well whatever, can’t wait for the playoffs. I simply love watching us play. If you can’t enjoy this, football probs ain’t for you.

Lovely stuff Town on 09:01 - Mar 19 with 2895 views | Dubtractor | I was going to make a similar post, but you've just beaten me to it. Some of the stuff we played yesterday was a joy to watch wasn't it? Some lovely close passing in and around their box, we moved them around the pitch well further back to create the space to play in, and at the other end our defensive play was excellent too - and against a tougher opponent than recent games. I thought it was actually a better performance than some of the recent hammerings we have dished out. Keep playing like we are atm and we've got an excellent chance of top 2.

I don’t know if it was a conscious decision but we were switching from left to right quite a lot yesterday, more than usual but with purpose My god our football in the championship would be great

Shrews are no mugs, and though we never made them look rubbish, we did restrict them to no more than a couple of half chances and kept stretching them all over the place whilst completely bossing the ball. Sometimes their midfield looked confused at what was going on. Thought they defended pretty well generally, and if they hadn't it would've been another four nil.

Burns and Davis both stayed very wide, which helped to stretch them and create some space in what would have otherwise been a very congested middle of the park. Really seem to have learned how to create openings against teams who are happy to sit quite deep and defend their box. It was noticeable that we moved the ball at pace yesterday too so that they didn't have time to set themselves, Burns got one on one so many times and had the full back on toast.

Burns was marvelous yesterday. Sure, his final ball is fifty-fifty (being harsh for the sake of argument) but sheesh, if he put in pinpoint crosses every time he'd literally be playing for Real ffs (again, I exaggerate to make the point).

He's hit some great form in recent weeks, yesterday he was almost unplayable.

And props to the lads in UN for trying to get stuff going constantly... even if it was stuff like stand up if you hate the scum and being told off immediately by the lass steward and sitting down again. COYFB

The fact they kept smashing Burns off the pitch suggests how frustrating Shrewsbury players found him.

I think you’ll find if you read the referee’s report that Burns was actually making a conscious choice to hurl himself into the advertising boards…

Indeed. Remarkably the ref seemed to miss most of it as well. Thought he made a few 'eccentric' calls yesterday.

Lovely stuff Town on 10:08 - Mar 19 with 2279 views | clive_baker | The level of consistency we’ve displayed shouldn’t be underestimated, all across the pitch. Even in the games we haven’t won we’ve generally stuck to our principles and dominated. I think we’ve evolved through the season, we seem to be getting stronger and stronger, I’m really enjoying a little more directness in our play at times which is great to see, we’ve become a really difficult team to play against. I love watching us right now, I genuinely think we’re the best team in the division. It might or might not translate to promotion, hopefully it does, but the future looks bright.

I've stopped worrying about what people think is success or failure or whatever. And I'm not interested in projects or what have you. I'm loving going to watch us play, the end. It costs me thirty quid a month, I see some muckers and have beer and grub, have a laugh, and even the grumbling fannies in the ground don't annoy me any more. COYFB

Couple of them were horrendous, by today's standards. Though tbh gotta love a bit of sliding heft. And Burns didn't make a meal of it.

That’s exactly where I’m at. It’s a journey not a destination and tomorrow never comes. Do I enjoy going to watch us? Yes, massively. Do I look forward to games again? Again, yes. Give me that over watching someone like Reading any day.

Bored of captain catastrophe at the footy. Miserable fookers saying what if what then whatwhatwhat whatabout blah blah blah. Like the owners will go elsewhere if we aren't promoted. The players will all leave. It's a failure. Yes yes yes, it's a failure, whatever. I don't care, I really don't. If ITFC implodes and goes bust because we got too many draws, whatever, I'll do something else ffs. I'm more worried about getting nuked before I've quaffed all my 2005 burgundies tbh.

It was a simple message on the recent joint interview with Ashton… he hopes will get onboard and just enjoy the journey I certainly am… hugely Even the pessimists around have stopped panicking and griping… and are purring at the football on the pitch Where I differ to you is that I’m enjoying the project also… I am loving the regeneration off the pitch and connection to US pension fund People need to wake up to the fact that McKennas position won’t be being questioned until the end of next season.. rightly so… so everyone get behind the team and the direction… stop the negativity during a blip
