Most forgotten town in Suffolk? on 09:26 - Mar 19 with 2837 views | DJR | It's not so much forgotten as unknown because there are vast areas of Suffolk, north of Ipswich and east of the old A45 and west of the A12 that I have never visited. Indeed, the only two places I can recall visiting in that area are Bungay and Framlingham.

We used to call it the Empty Quarter, that area between the A140, the coastal belt roughly along the A12, the A1120 and the Waveney. Black Shuck's territory.

Most forgotten town in Suffolk? on 18:56 - Mar 19 with 2056 views | LegendofthePhoenix | It always makes me smile driving up the A12, and seeing the sign Kelsale Cum Carlton. I don't know the history, but you can imagine it can't you. Some old Suffolk boy about 200 years ago, describing to someone how to find their way to Carlton, and the rest is history.

Most forgotten town in Suffolk? on 19:09 - Mar 19 with 2024 views | Chondzoresk | Hmmm.. how about Eye. Fabulous little town. Unless you are local, I bet most of you sail past its signs on the A140. Big church, castle ruins to climb....lots of little local shops. Worth a visit. Free parking too on Church Street. A little gem.

I think you are confusing "forgotten" with "wanting to forget".
