Can’t keep losing the toss? I hate it. Can see the logic re marginal gains and starting well but don’t think the theory stacks up, if that’s what it is. It’s never quite the same first half so doubt it makes much difference and then we lose the potential advantage of the crowd being up if we’re building momentum and need a goal second half, when I think it can influence the game. |  | | |  |

Yeah always a bit flatter when games are ‘easier’ anyway but felt the atmosphere was good today for most of the game, better than the FGR game, I sat in SARU for that one and today, Shrewsbury fans on Twitter commenting on what a good atmosphere it was. [Post edited 18 Mar 2023 21:59]

Pretty sure we're being turned around by oppo - Walton looked like he was making himself comfortable before having to grab his stuff - but it has perhaps played in our favour. We seem to start with more intensity and the defence is allowed a calmer introduction, settling into our passing game without any additional pressure from the North.

Not doing them much good though and I can't see the logic really. As an away team the longer you keep things tight, the more pressure goes on the home team. Last thing you want is a fast start that gets the noisiest home support behind their team. |  |

That was my thinking, especially as teams generally try to frustrate us from the off.
Having us kick towards the most vociferous end, if anything, gives us impetus and once we have got ahead, we've not looked in any trouble (well, not since Jan anyway).
Also, they also miss out on kicking the way of their supporters in the second half. I don't see how it favours them but I'm not complaining. | |

There's 2 teams who have thus far come to Portman Road and got points you wouldn't expect them to - Lincoln City and Cheltenham Town - both scored at the North Stand end first half and defended that end second half. | |
