This is all great, but, 13:54 - Apr 26 with 3763 views | Guthrum | assuming we do get promoted, the real work starts then. Climbing up through the Championship to the Premier League. Not until we're at least challenging for the second-tier playoffs will the damage over the last 15 years be truly restored. The plunge which began with Roy Keane's first summer and was only briefly brightened by McCarthy. Yes, what's happening now is glorious, but it's only the start.

This is all great, but, on 15:22 - Apr 26 with 2866 views | clive_baker | Tomorrow never comes my man. We have to enjoy the success we're having, albeit at a level we shouldn't have found ourselves at. It's a journey though innit, not a destination. These are fun times to be a Town fan, drink it in rather than worrying too much about tomorrow.

Quite right. I remember thinking at the point of the scum having an open top bus for league one bieng incredibly tin point. However, it's easy to forget that we have a whole generation of supporters that haven't witnessed any success for Town. I was incredibly lucky that I was at PR for the Bolton game and Wembley for Barnsley which I will remember and cherish forever. If we do it on Saturday, lets revel in it and let our young supporters have their own memories.

At present we get £1.4 mill in League One for just turning up, in the Championship this figure rises to 7mill from some cursory Googling. Quite the leap.
This is all great, but, on 15:37 - Apr 26 with 2727 views | Nutkins_Return | No. We absolutely enjoy it. The players enjoy it. It's what it's all about. Great thing about this club now is that a lot of the planning and prep has already been done next year with contingency plans if we do or don't make it. Everything is controlled and managed. So yes - we just party!! :)

Quite. Not to mention the fact that this has been the most enjoyable season in god knows how long. Yes it's the 3rd tier but going away in huge games in the context of the league like Bolton, Derby, Barnsley and winning like we have, it's been a blast. Give me that over Reading away and 16th in the Championship.

This is all great, but, on 15:54 - Apr 26 with 2561 views | Guthrum | I wasn't saying don't enjoy it. Who could not enjoy promotion, playing the way Town have been, with the way the club has become? More intended as a rallying call to take the success and kick on from there. Back to where we should have been -and beyond. Pretty sure that's the way McKenna, Ashton and the owners will see it, too.

There's also the fact we're not up yet. Can you imagine we're 0-0 against Exeter with 10 minutes left and Sheff Wed are winning 2-0...

Don't, I'm absolutely certain that even if we do get it done on Saturday we'll have had a period going through the wringer en route, it's terrifying ...

This is all great, but, on 16:01 - Apr 26 with 2507 views | Churchman | I think it’s a question of getting the job done first and enjoying the moment. It’s clear from Ashton and O’Leary they have plans for the future, depending on what division we are in and it’s all good. Ashton in particular has confirmed many times that it’s the start of a project (actually a programme) to build this club up to where it belongs. Who knows where that is, but it isn’t League One. But for now, let’s get top two and savour it. All at ITFC and us supporters deserve that after so long of nothing but decline.

Exactly why this heros welcome stuff by blue action is wrong. Don't disrupt the players normal matchday. Let's try and see the game out and celebrate if we win or Wednesday drop points.

One game at a time is still the mantra and still how we need to approach this season. It's not over yet, however much our battered pride senses some sort of redemption. It's telling how emotional some fans are, and that's great but let's keep our senses sound until we've done it (and to Guthers point, let's keep some perspective too)...

They will have a massive sesh. McKenna is driven and focussed beyond this season. But they'll allow themselves a few weeks of enjoyment and rightly so!! All that being said. I do get your sentiment!! [Post edited 26 Apr 2023 16:21]

Potentially it could Big group. Police potentially having to oversee it. Blockages In the road. Delays possible... talks of flares etc so driver visibility could be reduced etc. I just don't see the need until the job is complete.

I know. I am concerned about my ability to judge how pissed to get so that I can control my nerves, but not be too pissed that they won't let me in through the turnstiles.

I get your concern and it's a valid point to raise. But I think the very real bond is there now between Club, Players and supporters and it's just an extension of that. McKenna implemented all going to matches on the same bus to soak it up. He sees it as focussing players minds and seeing the fans going to the games and what it means. I think this is an extension of that. Could it have a negative effect...it's possible. Could have a positive effect. Yes much more likely. And do you know what. I've stopped worrying about any negative fragility this team/squad/club might have. We are a big club again. We are a strong club. This team has big b*ll#ks!!! [Post edited 26 Apr 2023 18:16]
