Darraghs a mouthy git ain't he on 20:11 - Jun 26 with 3028 views | itfcsuth | No nothing wrong with that. He’s a very open owner on the socials and always has been. I wouldn’t anticipate he’d come out and say he’s had his pants pulled down. He may talking truth in respect to add ons and bonuses - Ashton also won’t be a mug and overpay. £1.5M initial fee seems sensible for both parties, and bonuses & add ins should be there from Posh, I’d want us to do the same. He speaks highly of the player, and no disrespect to Ipswich and Ashton. [Post edited 26 Jun 2023 20:12]

From the knocking other Championship clubs for not coming in, to the overly staunch defence of the fee he’s got, to the hoping we get promoted so he can get some add ons!

It's just a bit weird tbh. I'd cringe If Ashton went on twitter to publicly moan about clubs not bidding for one of our players.

Darraghs a mouthy git ain't he on 20:19 - Jun 26 with 2804 views | the_toff | It's clearly a message to Peterborough fans. Bigging up the fact he rebuffed a few offers in January to try and get them promoted. Trying to make out like they've got a great deal etc. He's looking out for himself, why wouldn't he.

Where did he moan? He just said a lot of Championship clubs missed out…

This. Seems he's trying quite hard to convince Peterborough fans that they've got a great deal. I think the reality is they needed the money and reading between the lines they've probably touted him elsewhere but not got any firmed up interest. Then took what they could from us when they feared we were turning our attention elsewhere. I hope they do get that chunky add on if it's linked to us going up.
Darraghs a mouthy git ain't he on 20:29 - Jun 26 with 2655 views | J2BLUE | Nothing wrong with that really. He has his audience to play to and he's been complimentary. Honestly, I would rather have him as an owner than most of them. We have got lucky with the new regime but there are some terrible owners out there. We should know.

As you say though, there’s nothing necessarily wrong with that. I wouldn’t be the same in his shoes, but each to their own. I’d much rather an owner like that rather than Mr Invisible Evans. At least the fans get to feel he cares and are a more connected with the club.

I'm not too fussed by it either to be honest. I find a chairman wearing a team coat with his initials on, as though he's part of the squad or backroom staff far more tin pot than doing stuff on Instagram.

Darraghs a mouthy git ain't he on 21:01 - Jun 26 with 2307 views | redrickstuhaart | Unpleasant and no class. Calling a fellow professional man a "sidekick". Also its not a great deal for peterborough if he is as good as he suggests whilst berating Championship clubs for not buying someone he was refusing to sell....
Darraghs a mouthy git ain't he on 21:27 - Jun 26 with 2141 views | Stewart27 | I thought I’d watch this and cringe. But he articulates himself well. I remember wishing he was our owner when we had Evans. Mind you I would have taken the Venkys. All I see is an owner being honest and justifying the sale of one of his prize assets to the posh fans. Whilst showing respect to the player and ITFC. [Post edited 26 Jun 2023 21:28]

So how is this deal they have got now, any better than the £2m we offered them in January?

It’s not a better deal from the initial fee - but PL bonus and sell on % may be greater now. DMac specifically said he would not sell Jack Taylor in the January window as they we pushing for play off spot, and made that promise to Ferguson when he appointed him, but also promised Taylor he could move in the summer. He had 12 months left on his deal - the price we were willing to pay seemed to have changed accordingly.
