Step forward Vaclav Hladky 17:01 - Aug 4 with 3405 views | unstableblue | Always felt he was too good to be a number two, and might move on... but now his chance has come to shine. Good with his feet, and has a great shot top in him. Just needs confidence and a run. Let's back him with some songs on Sunday. COYFB.

Step forward Vaclav Hladky on 17:06 - Aug 4 with 2711 views | FrimleyBlue | Is he genuinely good with his feet? Last game he was tripping over the ball and even let one go under his foot. Genuine question.

Step forward Vaclav Hladky on 17:10 - Aug 4 with 2692 views | GlasgowBlue | Yeah. Losing Walton is a blow but Vaclav is a very good replacement. And he's been patient and loyal. Not caused any issues since being replaced and done a job when called upon. As I said, it's a big blow for us but at the same time I'm please for Vaz. [Post edited 4 Aug 2023 17:15]

Step forward Vaclav Hladky on 17:14 - Aug 4 with 2660 views | tractorboy1978 | We need to hope he's a lot better than he was in the 2021/22 season. Looked totally overwhelmed and made more errors in a dozen games than Walton has in his whole time here.

I may be wrong but I am sure McKenna praised this aspect of his game. And apart from the period when he first joined the club, I think he has done pretty well on the occasions he has played from a shot/crosses point of view (the Preston game was an example). As regards the Leipzig game, I thought the ball took a bit of a bobble when it went under his foot, so maybe there were issues with the pitch. He is, however, not as tall as Walton. People seem to have forgotten there was a big clamour for him to replace Walton last year during his dodgy spell. [Post edited 4 Aug 2023 17:32]

Step forward Vaclav Hladky on 18:16 - Aug 4 with 2314 views | ArnieM | Hladky’s lack of height worries I have to say, especially given we are imho, weak in our CB’s ability to deal with balls into the box. I’d say we’re significantly weaker in defence since this injury to Walton had been announced. Sod it!

Hopefully he’s fired up for his chance. That said, if he makes a clanger we need to remember that the last time we played at the Stadium of Light, Walton dropped a ball of their striker’s head at 0-0 with minutes remaking. It happens. McKenna picks him and we back him.

Well yes of course. I’m hoping he really does grab his chance . It’ll push Walton more , snd give us two very good GK’s.

You couldn't sound any more desperate for Hladky to fail. You've talked some right sense recently but you seem to have gone off on one with negativity today. Nerves at the start of the season? Have a watch of the keeper video on TownTV it will genuinely make you feel better about Hladky. Report back after ;)

Step forward Vaclav Hladky on 19:35 - Aug 4 with 2020 views | Nthsuffolkblue | I think the drop-off from Walton to Hladky is significant from the little I have seen of him. However, he has been better in matches last season so that is promising and hopefully a sign that he is settled/improving/better coached. And you are spot on. He is our player and let's support him and hope he excels. Before he came to us he was excellent in a team that hardly conceded. What matters isn't what he has done before but what he does for us now.

No not at all NR. Was purely interested in what was known about him in regards to being good on the ball. Slicker was for me a prime modern day footballing keeper he just oozed calmness on the ball but to young to start yet. I just didn't feel hladky looked as comfortable hence the question.

Step forward Vaclav Hladky on 19:37 - Aug 4 with 2012 views | itfcsuth | Vaclav has good qualities - I think he lacks in some areas to Walton - especially commanding his box. However, a really good shot stopper, really strong with the ball at his feet and thoroughly deserves his chance in the side. A key member of the GK union last year even when not in the side he was an important member of the group - it’s the whole point in having a good number 2, for when these circumstances occur.

We weren't talking about handling. It's also not a comparison between the two as overall keepers. Ones an acadey lad for starters.

Yes he’s good with his feet GOOD being the word here - nobody is saying he’s excellent but he’s good, more than adequate Is he a better keeper than Walton ? Obviously not but whilst I would much rather have Walton , let’s back the bloke and support him ffs Good luck to him and I hope he shines

He won golden glove the season before he joined and was gk of the season. He's a good keeper. No one is questionning his overall ability.

Ok. Going to choose to believe you on this but you've gone all full on meltdown today on a load of post and even the comments section. I think you care and I think the pre-season wobbles have struck you!! Breath dude. You've had a right good spell recently IMO. Don't go full ridiculous again 😂

Not if they appreciated the question rather than having their own assumption. You said yourself I've not been overly negative so why assume I am here.
