If we need players gone then last night was the best chance to showcase them - and on that presunmption I would say Edwards stays (for now) and more likely to see Harness out perm or Baggott on loan if we go for a marquee defender. |  |

Think that's an odd take to be honest. If Edwards had a future here we'd want to get him some competitive minutes to keep him sharp. Last night wasn't a showcase to get rid of players, it was getting minutes into the legs of people in the first team squad. That Edwards hasn't made a matchday squad for both our first two games suggests he doesn't have a future here. | |

Of course pure speculation on my behalf but possibly we are waiting on another player before agreeing to let Edwards go to another club.
