Can anyone tell me what an inverted full back is? on 22:24 - Sep 19 with 2462 views | MattinLondon | Traditionally, full-backs are the widest players in a back four, and as a result they attack and defend mostly in the wide areas. However, full-backs who move inside into central spaces when their team has the ball are known as 'inverted full-backs'.

Nothing. I shouted 'tuck in hell' when Wes missed his sitter. Or something very similar. It got me a few strange looks as I was in the reception area of our leisure centre. But hey, it was a bad miss.

Yeah, but this is a lot what Martin is like. He thinks he's a football tactical genius but some of the basics go missing and in sticking rigidly to his ideas he also puts players in difficult positions, as we saw and benefitted from tonight. His teams seem to lack the hard work and some of the basics that form the foundation of success. They had the most dangerous players on the pitch, but we were fitter, stronger, better drilled and it showed.

Neil Thompson's arse was the widest player in our back four in the nineties. He often had one cheek on the sideline and one on the penalty spot. Cracking free kicks too.

Can anyone tell me what an inverted full back is? on 22:57 - Sep 19 with 2175 views | BondiBlue | It's an effective form of defensive suicide practised by ex-budgies who think they are pep guardiola, especially when used against a high-pressing and cohesive front 4 managed by a better coach.

All players confident on the ball in areas not traditionally relating to their starting position, see Holland 74'. Mick Mills would fit very well into this system. Though at 72 he might tire by 60 minutes....

McKenna dabbled with playing Davis as an inverted full back during pre season but we haven’t seen it in the league so far.
