'"They need to get this guy in a room - handcuff him in that room - and make him the highest-paid player at the club."

Former Tynecastle winger Neil McCann's method of ensuring Lawrence Shankland stays at Hearts may sound extreme, but that's just how important the striker is to the club.'

'"Shankland's a guy who just continues to impress everyone," McCann said on Sportscene. "He scores a goal out of absolutely nothing. He's just a natural born marksman.

"I would be flabbergasted if Hearts don't want to show their intention here to their own fans. If you lose your marksman, the house of cards falls down. I don't think they can replace him.

"If they don't do it, they're going to lose. An English Championship club will come and take him, or a Celtic or a Rangers. He could be the difference in the title race this season."'

Faes? The Faes who plays for the team who are top of the League, and who have parachute payments? Their best player? That Faes?

How much do you reckon they would need to be offered to sell him to a promotion rival right now?

£80 million?

If he, or any Leicester player, goes anywhere this season it will be to a Prem club.

Similarly, Southampton won't be willing to sell us Armstrong without a massive premium.

Pretty sure walker-peters is West Ham bound.
Smodicz isn’t a bad shout though

I think someone of the Worall mould would be ideal. Experienced at upper end championship level and able to provide some stability for a fairly young back line. I think someone like him would have to be a loan signing mind you.

You are not wrong in suggesting that Faes coming to us is as likely as me becoming a brain Surgeon, but the funny thing is I don’t rate him much. He is fast, strong, athletic, good in the tackle, can pass and played well against us on Tuesday. But he reminds me a bit of David Luiz. Lots of good things but can be a liability.

Last season he got taken to the cleaners on far too many occasions when playing against better players and I can’t put my finger on it; there's something about him I just don’t like. Maybe it’s because he doesn’t look a team player - the caveat being I couldn’t go Tuesday and I’ve only seen him on tv so I might be totally wrong.

An interesting player so feel free to shoot me to bits on this one.

If by realistic you mean completely unrealistic then yes, you've done well.

No chance on Whittaker.
Slim chance on Ng.
Worrall would be realistic as a loan.

I thought he looked class against us the other night, without doubt a prem player.

It’s his rolled down socks, hair and the way he runs like a madman. I’m sure he’s David Luis younger brother.

From BBC Gossip (no mention of us):

Liverpool are set to send defender Nat Phillips, 26, on loan again in January after his spell with Celtic ended.

Maybe we should start by looking at clubs which are known to be in dire need of cash, and see who they got.
