I’m getting worried, TWTD story suggests we’re the faves, but his agent posted all over Instagram 11 hours ago being at Everton (his agent seems like a bit of a k nob). Few stories this morning saying he now wants Everton.. seriously hope we can pull this one out the bag.

Paul Joyce as well saying he he wants Everton (they believe).

He is a super credible journo. Just want this one sorted tbh. Dragging on now.

Seem to remember Everton have something like the 15th biggest wage bill in Europe?

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
Poll: With Evans taking 65% in Huddersfield, is the Banter Era over?

Hull City sources seem to be saying one thing, the player's agent another. Safe to assume the agent might do better out of an Everton move and is presumably agitating for it.

At what point do players grow a fecking pair and say shut up, I want to play for Team X?! Why do players let agents do ALL the negotiating for them? It's ridiculous.

Tbh I’m not overly bothered if he comes here or not, and less so if he doesn’t actually want to be here. My main concern is that if Everton have tabled a £16m bid and we’re paying over £40m for the two of them, is Jacob Greaves really a £24m player? It does feel like a lot of money to be splashing on two players from Hull.

Let's hope Philogene buys into the project here and can see the potential for his career, surely he decides his future not his agent.

Let’s not do an Everton pls. Don’t want him if he’s going there, do want him if he’s coming here. We all would have loved to have seen him here. May still happen. Obviously really wanted by Ashton. Both clubs would be a great opportunity for him tbf. Shame about his agent is all I would say which ever way it goes…

Ashton won't have any hair left by the end of this summer.

We’ve built a squad that has got us this far based on desire, both to be here and to win. If he’s not sure he wants to be a part of that then that’s a pretty big blocker imo.

But anyway my concern is fully around the cost. Didn’t Hull put a £10m price tag on Greaves? And if they’ve presumably accepted Everton’s £16m for Philogene then £40m doesn’t sound like a great multibuy discount.

And equally that the Hull chairman / football club might do better out of a deal with us / out of making Everton believe that is the case.

Motives, motives everywhere!

What I would Villa have a big sell on clause now with a 40 millon double deal they could say Greaves was 30 millon on that deal hence to give villa a lot less money.

Don't really get how Everton is a "late move" when the player agreed terms with Everton three days ago. Surely they were an option all along?

Yes, think the same, the double deal probably works out better for them.

Presumably Hull can "tweak" the fee for each player if they sign for us FFP reasons not possible if they join different clubs

Feels very McKenna like - a very ‘busy’, rogue agent making the media picture very muddy and contradictory.

If that's true, it's really quite a damning indictment of the media these days that even the likes of the BBC are reporting it as fact.
