Steve Cooper getting £10 million in compo as well. Not bad for a few months work.

I'd have been a lot more worried if they'd gone for Potter to be honest; could be a risky move on their behalf.

Among those talked about for the Hull job. Would have thought he would get something better than that.

Why do you think that? He might buy into Leicester and be brilliant. He might stink the place out. Who knows? One year as PSV manager and four games or so at United - is that the reason you think they’ll probably do alright now?

‘Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s Leicester’. Got a certain ring to it I suppose and at worst he should be able to improve their diving and cheating, as if it needs any improvement.

Personally, I think they’d have been better off keeping and supporting Cooper who has a good track record despite being irritating.

RvN has also seemed to do a good job of dodging visiting PR given Leicester and Man Utd have been our last two home fixtures.

I think his face fits Hull, somehow.

In the same way that van Nistelrooy's fits Chepstow or Cheltenham.

I don't know much about the Eridivisie but he finished 2nd with PSV in his one and only season there. They went and won the league the following year.

He played 2 league games at Utd and won one against Leicester and drew the other against Chelsea. Can't say I'd have wanted him here if we were looking for a new manager

It'll be interesting to see how he does. Has some good experience playing under Fergie and various big name managers at Real Madrid, working under Guus Hiddink for Netherlands, and a bit of #1 experience at PSV.

He comes across fairly well in interviews when I've seen him too, seemed to carry himself well at United in that brief spell, but maybe that's just my bias because he's Dutch and dresses smartly.

Not sure there's enough evidence that he's destined to be a top manager yet, but certainly made a decent enough start to his managerial career to suggest he might.

But has he made a decent start? I'd imagine 2nd is pretty much a minimum requirement for PSV?

He didn't set the world on fire at PSV, didn't improve the team, including Man City Salvio, and failed to win the league during a time when Ajax were pants. He was the assistant coach for a man utd team with no clear effective structure they were all over the place, and he won some games for Man U ironically against an injury-ravaged and poor Leicester team.

Not sure it's a slam dunk that he will change their fortunes.
