Last night a perfect storm 10:15 - Aug 29 with 2685 views | Pinewoodblue | KMc got it wrong. It shouldn’t have been about getting minutes in but more getting minutes together. For example playing Greaves alongside O’Shea rather than Burgess getting his minutes. Also felt we didn’t get the substitutions right, had expected Delap & Hutchinson to come on when Harness did. Then we had one poor, and one below par penalty. Should have started with the same eleven he intends to field on Saturday and got minutes together. Could have made changes when the game was won.

Last night a perfect storm on 10:20 - Aug 29 with 2583 views | bournemouthblue | The Harness sub didn't really work out did it, it was a bit better after Hutch came on but he was never an ideal fit down the right I think my main take is Ali Al-Hamadi needs a loan and that front man is desperately needed Much in the way that Maidstone game illustrated it too

Last night a perfect storm on 10:21 - Aug 29 with 2568 views | FrimleyBlue | I think it worked as a lineup as although it won;t neccasarily be a side that will play together, O Shea, Burgess for example potentially, those who did play had similar players who they will play with around them. So for Clarke for example, he was able to play his role how KM wanted him to, add Davis into the game and things open up further for Clarke, especially when you add a delap, Hirst into the mix Phillips became the Morsy, so Cajuste could go out and play the loungo role, which I felt he did well, so he'll be fine for when he plays with Morsy Phillips, played the Morsy role and saw what Cajuste could do, but also, would also be able to play with Loungo. O Shea, playing with a left footed CB, doesn't matter if not Greaves, it's similar in shape, passing Angles etc The only negative was the unfortunate use of Al Hamadi, really not his fault, but he may as well not been on the pitch after his headed goal. 100% Not his fault, he's recovering, but he wasn't useful in any sense last night, couldn't press, couldn't hold the ball, couldn't make runs to take defenders away, it was actually quite pointless and the only negative I could find with the set up. BUT it was minutes and important minutes for him.

Last night a perfect storm on 10:25 - Aug 29 with 2521 views | nrb1985 | what would you have said if he'd started his best team and Omari, Morsy or Davis did their ACL? We have a big squad, everyone needs minutes and the fact we're out is likely to prove a blessing, like losing to Maidstone. Gives KM more time on the training ground to get across his ideas to the newbies.

Had Greaves played, along side O’Shea neither Wimbledon goal would have been conceded. Bottom line is we miss out on a sell out home game against Newcastle. You would expect the final pre season game to field something close to your starting eleven for first competitive game.

I understood the sub, there was little space in behind so Ogbene wasn't suited so made a bit more sense for a no.10 style winger like Harness. But after they scored AFC just parked the bus and made the whole final third very compact.

Last night a perfect storm on 10:47 - Aug 29 with 2228 views | Vic | I didn't see the game so can;t comment in anyway. And i totally trust KM's judgement on things. However, given there's an international break after Saturday I'd have gone with a stronger team, with Philips & Clarke making their debut from the start and Cajuste and maybe Oggers coming on from the bench. I think minutes and gelling for the '1st eleven' and hopefully a win would have been useful. But what do I know - just my take on it. In KM we trust.

Regarding your first paragraph, that's why I was slightly surprised we brought Hutchinson and Delap on yesterday. I thought we'd prefer to lose the game than risk injury to either.

It's all hindsight stuff. If we win we all say perfect team, minutes into all the squad etc etc. Last season Burgess heads both those crosses away but not for some reason last night, maybe being dropped has dented confidence. Too much over analysis (IMO), I prefer to let KMc do that and work with the players on that to right the wrongs.

Exactly, the biggest result was always going to be no injuries to our players. Maybe there was a little bit too much emphasis on the minutes. Perhaps there should have been more emphasis on there being an expectation to have a performance. I don't think I've ever heard of KM talk about expecting to win any match.
