Yes they were..it must be a nightmare for the fans..thinking to them selves how once they were on the Premier league..over spending and being talked about so much..suddenly they disappear into obscurity..languishing in league one for so long. People start to forget they exist..then they finally rise from the ashes to finally get to one step away from Premier league..only to realise they could be going back in to the abyss. Lol the life of a pompey fan .we are so lucky we have all the right people looking after us and owners etc. |  | | |

Three seasons ago, Wigan, Rotherham and Sunderland went up. The first two are back in L1. Two seasons ago it was of course us, Argyle and Weds. the latter two struggled and are not pulling up trees this time around. Derby, Pompey and Oxford? They may be ok but they’re not going to match what Sunderland did finishing in the play offs two years ago and of course top at the moment.
Then we come on to ourselves. Yes, what we achieved last season was remarkable. My three season nine team survey says there’s a big gap between L1 and Championship, albeit nothing like PL/Championship.
I suspect Portsmouth will be ok. They’ve got a good manager and support, but they’re not going to do what we did. The Championship looks tighter all round this season. Sunderland have lost a couple yet are top, Leeds are not as strong though I notice Burnley and Sheffield U are pushing up the top now. At the bottom, there’s no Rotherham to take a relegation spot and it’ll be a dogfight.
Interesting division and a tough one. I’m still scratching my head as to how we got out of it in the way we did competing against three teams a fair bit stronger than any in the Championship this year. |  | | |

It was an unfair comparison on their part really, we had a goal difference of 29 more than them in what was a stronger looking league
