Listening to BBC Bristol. That's Bristol Biased Commentary.

"Chance. Goalkeeper got away with it. They need to pressure him. He's their weakest link"

That's from a guy who doesn't watch Town matches on a regular basis so he hasn't seen many Muric face palms moments.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

It is.

However it's also unfortunate for muric that he's playing gk in a game where we are playing the ball out from the back as opposed Waltons luck with being asked to be more direct since he came in.

Until that fluff, he’d been looking assured.

Pity for his confidence.

Or maybe Walton makes better/safer judgment calls on when to do so.

Luongo didn't drop. That's unfortunate for muric.

I'm not disagreeing about safer judgements. But it's easier to make better judgements when you're asked to go long more than short.

Murics not had the luxury of not playing with the ball at the back..

I'd be interested to see how he fairs when he does eventually, at that point I think I'd be more obliged to agree with thoughts about him.

The ball was never on. Muric does this time and time again.

He just needs to keep switched on.

Why’s that unfortunate for him? That’s what we paid £10m for him to do, remember? We even hired a 3rd-party to help us with recruitment.

Because the stats that would have taken our fancy were 1 on 1. Shot to save % and he had a crazy high save % of shots not expected to make. Plus one of the top stats on claiming balls.

Tbh. If he could do all of that PLUS be 100% brilliant with ball at feet. He wouldn't be a £10 mill signing for us.

Yeah but playing it out under absolutely no pressure! He does it so slowly and the pass is telegraphed.

If Woolfy didn't scramble to save his blushes he'd be made to look very stupid against a side close to the bottom of League One.

Besides the kamikaze moment, how many times did Muric choose to pass to a defender with a Gas player closing in when he could either go long or pass to someone else unmarked in the box?

His decision making is shocking.

This is it! Turnover under Walton is so much better, he sees things ahead and gets play moving. Muric in all circumstances seems genuinely worried when he is with the ball and is way too ponderous when in possession. Almost like he’s concentrating so hard on not messing up that everything going on around him is secondary.

Agreed. no doubting his elite save making and cross claiming abilities, which of course are integral. However, unfortunately he just generally looks so clumsy and ponderous with the ball at his feet and combined with his erratic decision-making it is not a great combo.

What I find confusing is that when he signed for us in the summer Burnley fans were raving about his ball playing abilities from the back and his ability to pick out a visionary pass to create goal scoring opportunities. Not sure what has happened…

He clipped a couple of nice pin point balks out to Townsend and Burns but then undoes his good work with idiocy. It’s January and he’s making the same mistakes he did on his debut at the Etihad - indefensible really given how much everyone around him has improved.

Yeah that’s true, there were a couple of good balls out to be fair. To be clear, I for one am certainly not expecting a flawless player as that’s completely unrealistic. But as you mentioned, time and again he just seems to repeat making the same errors, which is a tad concerning. Mindset of course is such a crucial element in elite sport and that is why I have suggested in a previous post that I really hope that he is utilising a sports psychologist as a means to help improve this aspect of his overall game.

Unfortunately on here people like to polarise debate to the extent that objective view points aren’t really acknowledged and you have to be on one side of the fence or the other. It’s clear Muric has good attributes but it’s equally as clear he needs a lot of development and I agree, it’s the mental side of his game that needs work.

It’s right he’s been dropped but it’s also right that he shows a lot of promise and may have a good career here, in time - a luxury we don’t have right now.

He actually has a much higher completion rate than Walton - 41.5% to 32.4% for passes over 30 yards

I just find it wrong when like in this thread someone bemoaned the amount of times he played the ball short... it's what the manager has asked him to do.

I think the manager still see's Muric as his number one don't be surprised to see him back as first choice in the coming weeks.
