Reading the Chesterfield forum to see what they think of thier new signing somebody stated that on the Ipswich forum .

"A sizeable number are critical of Morsy"

Who are these people and where have they been for the last three years ?

Opposition fans, mainly. Nodgers in particular

That's one fat bloke (not me)

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

Does this relate to the business of wearing, or not wearing, a rainbow armband?

Other than that, there is not much criticism of Morsy in these parts, is there!?

They did not refer to anything specific, so who knows ?
That just annoys me.

Well he did play for them for 2 and a half years, captained them too, then moved on, so you would expect them to have opinions of him from that experience.

Veni Vidi Participatur. Now we can get back to competing.

Most opposition fans dislike Morsy - to us he is our Egyptian King, but he plays with his heart on his sleeve and is firm so can see why others don't like him. Or it could be jealousy

He’s one of those players you’re glad to have on your team. We’d probably hate him too if he played against us!

How dare someone from Chesterfield follow their local side. Complete lunacy.

Following their local side is great. Slagging off a long time former player who has made it to the PL seems very, very strange to me.

A Southampton fan that I know said this not so long ago. Something along the lines of "bloody Morsy, the animal. I wish he played for Saints!"

Odd place. Bit of a dump. Notable for its church’s crooked spire.

The area around it is great. Chatsworth, Peak District n all that. The Devonshire Arms is home to the best steak pies I’ve ever had. Mmmm

Every club has fans who slag off their own players or ones who used to play for them.

They weren’t, the OP said he saw a post saying a sizeable number of us (Ipswich fans) slag off Morsy, not a sizeable number of Chesterfield fans slagged him off. It’s in quotation marks.

Yep, this. No idea how people have gotten so confused! I assume it was a week or so ago when the JD story broke and people were annoyed about the Morsy penalty.

Could well be the penalty weekend. Also I'd say there are a fair few of us who have full admiration for Morsy's contributions on the pitch, but who also feel there's room for improvement at this level. Hopefully that isn't a disrespectful or Judas comment.

Personally I think squad evolution in that position would entail Morsy coming on from 60' or 70' onwards more often, rather than more often playing 90'. If Phillips isn't close to being the man to raise our centre up a notch then I'd welcome another CM signing in January. Dewsbury-Hall and Ward-Prowse are two double-barrelled names receiving very few minutes this season.
