Whilst Lampard was an amazing footballer he comes across as a complete twonk when commenting on the game yesterday. I always get the impression he see's himself better than he is. As it's been proved time and again great players don't make great managers. Whilst our own manager is under some sort of pressure due to our position I am glad we got KM rather than FL.

Think it depends what side you're on.

We've lost games before and McKenna has come out and said we were the better side (like last week) and maybe come across a bit salty. Some fans of other clubs think McKenna comes across as, dare I say it...smug.

Unfortunately we'll find out one day when McKenna lines up against us.

Don't think KM has ever said that the goals were the difference. I admit that listening to the commentary it did seem they had a large slice of the possession, a trait that has perhaps run through our performances. But we are set up to counter attack and KM has said that it's been mistakes that have cost us results we should have had. Therefore he has more or less blamed our mistakes rather than saying we had an equal amount of possession but the other side have taken their chances. Yesterday we created chances and took them. Many of our games we have created little and individual errors have led to goals. As for people saying KM is smug well that's about as far off as anyone could get when analysing a person.

To be fair to him he was undone yesterday against a side whose 3 behind Hirst cost the best part of £50m. With £50m rated Liam Delap off the bench. And many times England capped £100k a week Phillips in the middle. There’s levels, and we’re at a different one to them, in the same respect Brighton & Villa are compared to us.

He took charge with Cov 17th in the league and 10 points off the playoffs. They’ve cut it to 4 points and in his 14 games he’s averaged 1.76 ppg, which would total 81, plenty enough for playoffs. I don’t know why people are so desperate to hate on successful people, especially when they give no real reason to. He was an incredible player for England & Chelsea, and not one of many of that era that come across as complete pr1cks lacking any moral compass. He’s always come across pretty well to me and has done a sh1t load for charitable causes.

Also his motivation in a post match isn’t to give Ipswich fans an honest appraisal, it’s to maintain the confidence of his own players and supporters.

Ive seen a number of post from Cov fans saying they didnt play 3/4 "Key" players yesterday

Well if that was true, then I would ask why?

At home, he knew we would play a much changed side but 11th in the league, makes no sense

I do think he thinks he is better than he really is His track record so far is not great, he may get time at Coventry but the odds are it will all ends in tears until there is "Frank Lampards Macclesfield" or the like

They’re only 4 points off the playoffs. They played against Leeds on Wednesday and play QPR on Tuesday. Makes sense to me to rotate.

why be fair to him ? he's largely only got the job because of his name, like Rooney, not his management talent.

he could have said any of the things youve highlighted, still not diminished the confidence of his team or fans, just been a bit more realistic and honest.

Which whether other teams fans think KMc comes across as smug or not, he's always open & honest about how we've played in games, he doesnt pretend we were better than we were,

Yeah but the difference is that McKenna wasn't wrong about last week. Lampard on the other hand saying "take the goals out of the game and it was an even game" is absurd. He might as well have said "if we'd only we found a way to score four more goals we would've won that game."

The intended audience for a manager’s post-game comments are his bosses and his team’s fans, no-one else. It shouldn’t be a surprise that they put a positive and sometimes unrealistic slant on things. We need to stop taking them so seriously.

He was being criticised on local radio for not rotating enough as the players looked tired apparently. It's a strange game...

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Think he speaks very well for the most part and is generally very respectful.

I did laugh at his quote about if you take the goals away....but everyone knows what he meant in reality.

I'm also glad we got McKenna. I think Lampard is a good Championship manager though

Pretty sure he’s always denied that. I’m not going to speculate on tabloid BS.

His way of saying if they could have cut out the mistakes they'd have been in the game. A bit like McKenna saying a lot of our games have been decided on small margins, which is only true to an extent.
