Not if it requires us to win & Leicester, or Wolves, to lose. Not sure our younger fans could cope with that.

Older fans have been there in 1994

I think we will do well to get 30 points, and I think that will give us a fighting chance. I do however think that Wolves will probably end up winning at least four of their remaining fixtures and so probably won't be enough.

Have to say, last night was the first time I looked at the league table and thought "we have a real problem here". West Ham 10 points clear of us 5th from bottom. Southampton are cooked and then it's 2 from 3 between us, Leicester and Wolves. We really need wins now. Draws (well fought/earned or not) aren't going to cut it.

Just makes that home game v Wolves absolutely huge now, doesnt it?

Looms larger every week.

Draws are not ideal, agreed.

That said, a draw away at Villa is def a point gained though, it's not to be sniffed at.

Well fought/hard earned draws like we got Saturday are fine.

It’s the games against teams in poor form/home games against lower sides we just have to win now.

All we have to do is match Wolves and Leicester results week by week and beat them both when we play them. Simples, right?!

Of course, we need wins. But, equally, we do have to celebrate the performance/result on Saturday. Most relegation-threatened teams with ten men for 60+ mins would've caved in to a CL side. The fact we didn't gives me heart for when we face sides in that 'safe' mid table region. The likes of Spurs, United, Brentford, even West Ham, have nowt to play for against us and we need to take advantage of that, as well as a second win over Wolves.

I'd be amazed if any of the bottom 3 ended up with over 30 points, let alone us to be brutally honest. The teams who have come up are still yards off the other bottom-end teams such as Palace, Manure, West Ham, Everton, and even Wolves. Spurs will improve once they get a new manager in. While Wolves' form isn't great, they are playing well enough at the moment to do better than the bottom three, and they have a couple of players who will make the difference, that if we had we'd probably stay up.

If we get 32 points and stay up this season I will pay for the McKenna statue myself. That would be a huge achievement.

Draws are good enough if we can keep accumulating them, as we did in the first few weeks of the season. One point per game soon adds up. That's double the rate anyone else in the bottom four is going at in the current form table.

As I tried to say before, it alld epends what Leicester and Wolves are doing doesn't it? If they are picking up unexpected wins here and there, we will need to as well. If they flop, draws will do it.

I just hope neither of those rivals get out of sight quick, and that we're at least still in the running come April.

They aren't really. 1 win is worth 3 draws. They are decent if you can supplement them with a couple of wins but not going to do much on their own. Unless you assume Wolves are going to lose every week.

We've drawn twice as many games as Wolves and they've lost twice more than us yet they find themselves 2 points (+ GD) ahead of us.

Of course draws may be good enough. It all depends on relative results.

Look at the predicated table from The Sun (yes, it's just a model, but it illustrates a possibility where draws result in safety). In that illustration we have 1 win less than Wolves, but the draws push us over the line.

As has been said time and time again - fine margins ...

Of course there are hypothetical scenarios and all sorts of possible variations. In all likelihood we are going to need to win at least as many if not more games than Wolves from this position though.

Agreed. We can't rely on Draws. One win at home in the problem.

Firstly, we need to beat both Wolves and Leicester (i wonder what that computer had us down as).

That prediction has us Wolves down as only 3 wins and 1 draw more so only 10 points? I'll predict they'll get more than 10 points. They've not got too many of the big hitters left.
