It felt weak when I watched it and on the replay but I’ve only seen it a couple of times. Doesn’t really matter though, it was given and so just have to pick ourselves up and go again.

It was a penalty. And frankly they deserved it at that point as they we were pinging crosses in with abandon with no one bothering to stop them. If it hadn’t been a pen it would have been a header soon enough. |  | | |

I saw it same as you, bit of a congested box and their player just throws himself down, hopefully. Looked very soft indeed, not sure how the ref can be so certain. I never thought I'd say this but I'm already missing VAR! |  |

Not ones you spend 18M on at least. I quite like Greaves think he’s decent and probably a higher ceiling giving his age but for that cost, can’t see the upgrade on Burgess is super high tbh.
A couple of good balls through the lines today though, when he steps out of defense he might want to release it a second or two earlier. Not a major problem for me and think he will be part of a very solid defense this year but just another possible example of chucking some mad fees around last summer at the EFL level. I couldn't get that link to work but now that I have seen the highlights (half of which are Jack Clarke whipping in great crosses) it still seems to me as it did at the time, Osmajic topples Greaves and then falls over him to deceive the referee into awarding the penalty. | |

Not sure if this is the case but a friend of mine said that's 3 goals against that Greaves has been involved with now....
It'd about not giving therefore a decision to make isn't it, whether you think hes " guilty" or not. |  |

It was a dive. Awful piece of refereeing.
The PNE player saw Greaves on the ground, pretty much stationary, and chose to topple over him to buy it. Was painfully obvious from my vantage point.
Reality is we had been on the back foot for ten minutes, and repeatedly seeing dangerous balls across the box from our right hand side. It was coming... [Post edited 24 Aug 10:05]

Throws himself over him.
They were at that all afternoon. Two of many cases in point:
Taylor wrestling with their defender at a corner pushes him towards the keeper who feels the contact and throws himself to ground and rolls around holding his calf. Gets up fine once it’s clear he is getting anything.
Small gets McAteer in a brief headlock in the area to then throw himself on the ground and roll around holding his face pretending he has been elbowed. |  |

I wouldn't say he was pushed over. He tried to get in front of the attacker when it was not really on and then got himself into a mess.
He should have stayed on his feet, kept tight and kept goal side. Bad defending. |  | | |

Yeah. Even more so from the opposite side behind the goal. Their player fouled Greaves then conned the ref by falling over Greaves. Frustrating, because it gave them something to hold onto early on in the game.
I'm still confident things will come right. Sometimes these little things go against you and change games. I thought Greaves had a really good game, and it wasn't his fault he got fouled and the ref conned. | | | |

Greaves was poor throughout. Again.
He defended pretty well, but there is a reason teams dont bother closing him down when he has possession. He slows everything down and makes ponderous obvious passes allowing the opposition to get their shape. | | | |
