He got his team together and decided that the least damaging response to what he was going to say would be a collective "Eh?". His people then got together to draft the words that would get exactly that.
Why do so many people have the annoying habit of saying ‘you know’ multiple times in the same sentence. If I knew, I wouldn’t be asking the frigging question!
Pretty hopeless. Better off being a bit more political and throwing Nunez under the bus a bit. Assuming he's definitely not his player any more. Doesn't even need to be a knob about it if Nunez wanted to leave.
Unless he's been forced out after a falling out with Manning, which would be jeffing hilarious.
The bit about using the money for a playet who can develop with them over the next few years raises more questions than it answers/ Grow into a Premiership team, or a mid table Championship one?
The obvious answer would be people do sometimes move between rival teams, or have links to one rival before joining another. Such as Norwich's current manager, for example.
I almost feel some sympathy for Manning, reading that. He’s been there 2 minutes and has to face to face defend a sale of one of their better players to a local rival. At least Kevin Keegan had a few years of goodwill in the bank when he had to defend selling Andy Cole from Newcastle to Manchester Utd. Though Manning ought to be worried by that analogy. It took a few years, but Cole was eventually a success at United. I don’t think Keith Gillespie ripped it up at Newcastle, which in a sense, is what Norwich need Mattson to do for them.

I think when we sign one of their best players, and their fans are angry and distraught at seeing us take him, we can afford just a short while of laughing and merriment.
Given the start we've had, I think concern on the part of our fans was justified. Getting rid of, and losing, so many players without replacing them several games into the season was massively worrying for me. And the results on the pitch, and lack of shots on target, were also worrying.
However, we now HAVE replaced our lost players. Our defence is letting in a goal a game, and we've only played one at home. I don't see the defence as any kind of problem. If you look at the front six, there are a number of players still to get to the training ground, others who are new and haven't yet bedded in, and others who have had no real pre-season. So I really do think that we cannot yet judge what we have. I am much much relieved now we have Nunez, Azon, and (fingers crossed) Egeli. We now have, on paper, an embarrassment of attacking riches for this level. We need to see whether what is on paper can be translated onto the grass. And on that score, Kieran has an excellent record at this level.
I agree about Mick. I think he did an incredible job of keeping us relatively close to Norwich given (a) our budget, and (b) their budget.
I don't agree that if we don't go up, you can draw a conclusion about our strategy relative to Norwich's - what if we lose the playoff final and Norwich get relegated? That would not signify that Norwich have done anything better than us.
We cannot gripe that we've replaced our best players with lesser players. That is totally to be expected when a team is relegated from the Prem, and is impossible to avoid, even without relegation release clauses. We had to let Omari and Delap go, and there was never any hope of attracting players with a similar reputation. However, there is still the chance that Egeli and Azon could be special. Egeli in particular could be anything. That is exciting (once he's through the door).
I think at this moment in time we can afford to be a bit optimistic. I have thrown lots of toys out of prams these last few weeks, but let's pick up those toys again. If we keep on not having any shots on target for the next month or two, then by all means jettison them again, but right now I think the strategy is, at least on paper, back on track.
