Our 10s are completely non existent, we don’t get them the ball. Midfield is too safe, don’t show enough for the ball and when they do get it don’t turn or move foward.
Hence everything comes from wide areas.

That's what they are. They are goalscorers, they want to be running in behind and playing on the last shoulder. Our 10 needs to link, move out wide and they just can't do it.
I think Akpom shows signs of life, he does have the ball carrying and touch for that role but he is still a long way off. Szmodics is a complete write off for me, just the complete wrong profile for that position. Offers nothing if he doesn't score. | |

I was concerned when we signed the Spanish lad on loan. Looking at his career goal scoring record it’s not good. Hirst is very hit and miss. Been okay in some matches, really disappointing in others. That’s fair enough, and why you need options. We fonts in thecstrijer role. Really need a top striker. But appreciate there aren’t many around. | | | |

We lacked a simple finish from either Azon or Nunez to win that game and make it 3 in a row. If we lack anything, it's better finishing. Not sure how Akpom and Szmodics who have scored 30 before in this league can't score. Could we improve on the coaching side? We don't seem to improve players in front of goal. Taylor was one with a reputation for long distance shooting .... where has that gone?
It was an ok performance and we nearly won that. No need for a big inquest.... but if we had a 20 goal a season striker or a 10 we'd up there. | | | |
