Feeney Loan Signing Confirmed Thursday, 17th Mar 2016 11:04
Town have confirmed the signing of Bolton winger Liam Feeney on loan until the end of the season.
The 29-year-old, who will wear the number 12 shirt while with the Blues, trained with the squad this morning and once the paperwork is complete will go straight into the squad for Saturday’s home game against Rotherham. Feeney's spell would run until after the play-off final if the Blues are involved.
"I’m really excited and I’m glad it’s done now,” the wideman told Ipswich Player HD.
“Coming from the situation [at Bolton] to come into a team that’s pushing for the play-offs is exciting and hopefully I can add to that.
“It’s a different type of pressure to play under but it’s an exciting kind, and the sort you want to be playing under at the right end of the table.
“It all happened pretty quickly and as soon as I heard Bolton had agreed it I came down and watched the boys get a good win on Tuesday night.
“I can bring a directness to the team. I like to run with the ball, put crosses in, so hopefully I can help create a few goals when given the opportunity.
“The gaffer will get a good look at me in my time here so hopefully it goes well and we’ll see what happens next year.”

Speaking on Tuesday, Blues boss Mick McCarthy said Feeney impressed him with his performance during Bolton's 2-2 draw with Town at the Macron Stadium last week.
“I’d never seen him play up front before but I thought he was different class last Tuesday, I thought he played really well,” he said.
“He can play either side, he’s got real pace, he can stretch the team, stretch the pitch and he’s an experienced Championship player, so that’s a good one for us that.”
Feeney, who is out of contract in the summer, started his career in non-league with Hayes and then Salisbury, before moving on to Southend (loan), Bournemouth, Millwall, Bolton (loan) and Blackburn (loan). He joined the Trotters on a permanent basis in May 2014.

Phil, could you press the club on a few things: - Why have the club not confirmed that Bishop is suffering with shin splints? - Is it true that D McGoldrick is having personal issues, and he, and his agent, have been given permission to seek for a transfer away from the club during this summer. The reason he's so desperate to make a return is so he can place himself in the shop window during the Euro's (if selected). - What is the clubs situation with Andre Dozzell, it's true that die to his age we still cannot offer him a professional contract until he is 17, and is it true that he has spoken to a London premier league club. I hear that his mum wants him to move away from Ipswich and that his dad, who has split with his mum, was only brought in as a coach to attempt to keep him.
McCarthys record when it comes to wingers is very poor, Feeney on the other hand is a different class very happy to see him in the Town shirt welcome Liam this man is a good player
Wallingford Boy That's the info I have received from a reliable source. I just feel that, as the club are raising ST prices and asking supporters to hand over £000's, they need to be more transparent with regard to arguably their 3 biggest assets at this time.
Mr Evans some interesting questions but these have been doing the rounds for sometime now and I am sure Mick has heard them several times before. I bet if pushed he soon gets Scusey and Tabby into the reply!! Welcome aboard Liam good luck.
First saw Feeney playing for Salisbury nearly 10 years ago. He's pushed on to forge a decent league career and I hope he wants to win a contract with us.
I love the comment I got it from a reliable source as bad as a MP tell you this now if they are that reliable and not just a mouth with no idea, I have a suggestion name names. Tell us your reliable source so we can judge for ourseleves the reliability. you want answers to questions from known scources from an unknown source, if the info is justified he will have no fear from being named.
I like this signing , possibility of permenant deal too. Plays in various positions and ticks all of micks boxes ! Welcome on board LF. As for that mug up the top of the comments section 😂😂😂😂 don't make me laugh you have no reliable source. talking about Andre and his mother and fathers personal life ? You lost the plot fella ! It's up to him who he plays for, he will be offered a pro deal the second he turns 17 which he will sign straight away. David mcgoldrick will be in the squad for Wolves game and teddy bishop doesn't have shin splints you donut
Looks a good loan to me.If fit I hope he starts on Saturday.Mr.Evans,time and time again MM has stated BIshop has Shin splints and the injury cannot be rushed. He is a very slight lad so possibly needs to be handled in a different way to other players.!Never believe a tale about footballers, they are nearly always wrong.I'm sure MM would not disclose information about a youth player talking to a premier club.Best to be patient and just see what happens.ðŸ‘
Hopefully now we have Pringle and Feeney as options on the wing, that they won't be on the bench whilst we stick with Skuse, Douglas and Hyam through the middle. Despite the win on Tuesday, the formation and selection was not football material.
Very pleased with this signing. He was fantastic at Bolton away (which I unfortunately went to!) Hopefully if he impresses we can keep him on a permanent deal next season. Quite handy as well seeing as Pringle won't be here much longer. We certainly need someone who can hold the ball up, make good runs and crosses and supply to Sears. Murph and Sears in the middle with Pitman and Varney on the bench would suit me.
