Huws in Wales Squad for Friendlies
Wednesday, 1st Nov 2017 11:20

Blues midfielder Emyr Huws has been named in the Wales squad for their friendlies against France and Panama during the international break.

The Welsh face France in Paris on Friday 10th November and then Panama in Cardiff four days later.

The 24-year-old has previously been capped 12 times at full level by Wales. Former Blues loanees Jonny Williams and Tom Lawrence are also in the squad.

Huws is set to return to the Town squad for Saturday’s home game against Preston having played 90 minutes for the U23s on Monday after recovering from the achilles injury which has hampered him since pre-season.

Wales: Wayne Hennessey, Danny Ward, Chris Maxwell, Ben Davies, James Chester, Neil Taylor, Chris Gunter, Tom Lockyer, Ashley Williams, Ethan Ampadu, Joe Allen, David Edwards, Andy King, Joe Ledley, Aaron Ramsey, Emyr Huws, Jonathan Williams, Gareth Bale, Marley Watkins, Hal Robson-Kanu, Sam Vokes, Tom Lawrence, Ben Woodburn, David Brooks.

Hmmm.. not sure about this - he's not even played a first team game for us yet since signing permanently. Only on his way back to fitness, going away with Wales would be the last thing he should be doing, in my opinion.

Get him pulled out ASAP, need him to get back fully fit not go off and play a couple of pointless friendlies

Ridiculous! Meaningless friendlies and you call up a player who hasn't played a first team match all season! Club should be allowed to refuse release under his circumstances!

Whilst this is wrong in the eyes of all ITFC supporters, its a big tick in the box that he is called up without playing a game for us as yet this year.
The fact that he is rated this highly shows that we have again signed a quality player.
No doubt he will play some part on Saturday, then the club will either pull the plug or do a deal in term of minutes playing with Wales.
From a clubs point of view he will only get better training with Ramsey and Bale.

how can wales assess a player who's been injured all year? was it the U23 game that got him a place? if you're not fit enough for the first team you can't go on int duty. end of.

Unbelievable!! He's not been fit to play for us since the end of last season. Now he's getting back to some semblance of fitness he's all of a sudden fit to be included in his Country's squad!

We need him in OUR team first, not bloody Wales!

I guarantee you that even if we had a fully fit Huws,Adeyemi,Bishop,Hyam,Dozzell along with Downes,Nydam & Ward,McCarthy would still pick Skuse ahead of each and every one of them.

The guy is undroppable no matter how little he contributes week in week out.

Skusey is this season's Jonathan Douglas. There must be another way even with the midfielders injury list.

Last thing we need now is an injury in a meaningless match.

We should have a right to say no in this situation. He hasn't even played a minute for us this season and he's now off with the Wales Squad? Seriously? Our midfield needs him back fully fit, not injured while on International duty. We badly need to turn this season around, and Huws is a key component in making that happen.

Am growing increasingly concerned about our abject performances. Few more losses, and we may have to start seriously looking over our shoulder. 21 points, though 2 points better than this time last year, is far from safe.
