Cotter On Way to Town to Complete Move
Wednesday, 31st Jan 2018 11:03

Town target Barry Cotter is on his way over from Ireland to complete the formalities relating to his move from Limerick to the Blues, which TWTD was first to reveal on Friday, ahead of today’s 11pm deadline.

The clubs have agreed a fee for the 19-year-old right-back or midfielder, believed to be €80,000 (around £70,000) - more than Brentford paid for striker Chiedozie Ogbene, a player we understand Town were also keen to sign, earlier in the week - plus add-ons and a sell-on clause.

Cotter, who recently spent time on trial at Playford Road, is flying over today to undergo a medical and sign his contract with the deal expected to be completed without a hitch, although often international clearance - which wouldn’t prevent the move from being rubber-stamped ahead of the deadline - taking a little while longer to go through.

Capped three times by the Republic of Ireland at U19 level, Cotter made nine League of Ireland Premier Division starts and two sub appearances for Limerick during the 2017 Irish season, his first-team breakthrough campaign.

Three years ago, when joining Limerick, Cotter went viral across the globe due to his resemblance to Brazilian star Neymar.

Meanwhile, it’s still expected to be a quiet deadline day at Town, although we understand the Blues are looking to get one or two of their younger fringe players out on loan to gain experience before the window closes.

As reported earlier, George Fowler is expected to complete his permanent switch to loan club Aldershot.

Nine appearances for Limerick and looks like Neymar. Sign him up. Must mean Micks staying or these signings are by someone else at the club.

Let's hope he brings his blanket to keep him warm on the bench. Until we are mathematical safe, ALL youngsters will not play. Words from the master tactician himself.

our current scouts will be moving on with MM, so don't expect a half decent sausage arriving here anytime soon

Really doesn't look like an Irishman called Barry.

Then again “ Fred “ “ Oscar “ “ Malcolm “ ..... “ Barry “ sounds Brazilian after all.

@howdonblue, just so frustrating at the minute, feels like the club is drifting aimlessly with no direction or purpose. (As long as we weren't relegated) if the club would just come out and say MM leaving at end of season so we not spending any money and saving cash so new boss can bring in his own players then fair enough. But nobody talks to fans sensibly.(apart from Milne, lol)

Will he even play?? Diagouraga played barely anything. Drinan has not kiced a ball for us yet. Moore didn't play anything.
