That's a shame!

Another case of Officialdom being over- protective of its own ?, and ,I wonder if there'll be any clarification of the reasoning ?
IF a decision is from the outside observers viewpoint ‘ harsh in the extreme ‘ ,then those charged with interpreting and activating the laws of the game should equally be aware of their responsibility to communicate and educate everyone involved, including the general supporting public !
What emerges ,or not, will be very interesting to see !
Whatever, train well S M ,maintain fitness and enthusiasm and all ITFC supporters are only too keen to see you in a Blue Shirt !

I just watched the incident. How on earth is that a red card ???

There is no point in an appeal system if you are going to protect poor decisions without an actual explanation as to why the decision stands.

What's happened to football, jeez, never a red card,

"Harsh in the extreme" indeed! Was the ref just evening up the card score? Stretched after the ball. Hardly dangerous and never a red card, or even a yellow.

That is a shame. I do hope that PC takes this opportunity to start Tom Carroll in place of Lee Evans who I believe has been off the pace in the three games I have seen.

So the conclusion is that every player when going for a 50/50 ball MUST make the ball, if the player doesn't and it turns out to be a 49/51 ball you'll be sent off.....you have half a second to make your decision too..

What's the point of these appeals? It's always rejected. This must be one of the softest red cards I have ever seen.

I can see why a straight red was given, having just now watched the video ITFC Singapore linked us to (thanks bud) and that is the only angle I have seen it from but Morsy's foot was raised and to me it looked like his (accidentally or not) foot then ran down down the Blackburn players shin!!

I'm as p!ssed off as anyone we are not gonna see him for three games and I'd love to see different angles of the foul, its also dependant on how many times the ref had to speak to him during the game etc etc, in all honesty I'd say yellow card myself solely based on that footage but as I said I can see why the red was given especially nowadays!!

Just watched it. Ref obviously thought he got the Blackburn red wrong so was just looking for any excuse to even things up. Looked like they just bumped hips to me!

The Blackburn player came through with so much force, I don't see what Morsy was supposed to do to avoid it

Fookin annoying - given the fact Morsy is exactly what we need now - captain / DM, yet we have to wait another 3 games, this tw?&tish decision could be very costly

It's quite obviously a red card to even things up....nothing more than that and no way deserves a three game ban

Considering some yellows or no cards are more intentionally dangerous than this, it makes a mockery of the game. Softest red I've seen in years. Salt in the wounds is rejecting the appeal.

Ha, the panel are a bunch of jokers, probably the same that think it's ok for teams to use towels to to facilitate long throws and alter the natural conditions of a game. Those in the hot seat are a waste of time and lack in common sense.

How is that a red? I'm not sure I'd even book a player for an accidental challenge like that.

I agree with some of the other posters here: the ref felt the need to make up for his earlier red card and was looking for any excuse. Very poor refereeing, only made worse by the review committee.
