David Norris- How good was he? 14:30 - Jun 3 with 4914 views | bluesym | Apparantly if we had given him a 3yr deal instead of offering 2,he would have stayed. Crawford Can't Understand Why Town Let Norris Go 3rd Jun 2011 09:39Town legend Ray Crawford says he can’t understand why the Blues allowed skipper David Norris to leave on a free transfer this summer. Crawford, 74, hopes to see Norris in action again next season but with his local club Portsmouth, one of a number of sides chasing the 30-year-old. 27

Thats a fair assessment.

David Norris- How good was he? on 14:44 - Jun 3 with 4815 views | WD19 | 12 goals in 6 years since leaving us. Good engine, we have had much worse, but for me he embodies 'average'.
David Norris- How good was he? on 14:54 - Jun 3 with 4769 views | RegencyBlue | He was OK but nothing special and certainly not worth the £2 million plus we paid for him. Plymouth saw us coming there!
David Norris- How good was he? on 14:58 - Jun 3 with 4750 views | evansblue | Given the huge fee he was average for me. Never bossed a game and if I recall he doubled his wage when he went to Pompey.
David Norris- How good was he? on 15:06 - Jun 3 with 4723 views | Steve_M | Ran around a lot, gave ball away a lot. Had one season where he never had to track back and scored a lot of goals. Keane messed up a good midfield to play him and we overpaid massively for him.

A good box to box player for the time we had him. Judged too harshly relative to the fee paid - why are fans obsessed with this, its not their money and not Norris' fault. Probably the best midfielder of his type we have had since Matt Holland (who of course he wasn't a patch on). A good quality championship player but of course our fans were expecting unrealistically premiership quality for £2m.

David Norris- How good was he? on 16:13 - Jun 3 with 4543 views | BackToRussia | Really poor passer of the ball, technically wasn't good enough. Bit baffling how he did so well at Plymouth, must have just suited him there playing wise.

For me, Norris, along with Lee Martin Martin embodies the waste of the early Evans years. Too much money spent on the wrong players at the wrong time. Although, I must stress Norris, was nowhere near as as utterly hopeless as Martin was. [Post edited 3 Jun 2017 17:04]

We've certainly had a more fantastic player of diminutive stature since him...

We should have bought Halmosi from them instead. And nearly did. Much like we should have bought George Boyd from Peterborough rather than Paul Taylor, to add another million plus flop. Or anyone instead of Cameron Stewart.

A totally different kind of player to Holland He was alright but no better than Williams who was significantly cheaper. Williams did tail off sadly.

David Norris- How good was he? on 03:36 - Jun 4 with 3799 views | Currie10 | He made Leadbitter look shocking - Norris was a poor player who wasted a lot of his energy by having a poor understanding of the game / positional sense. A non-technical Kevin Bru. Alan Quinn was poorly used by us, a much better player.
