Biggest beer rip off you've had? 11:53 - Jul 20 with 10135 views | Mullet | Met some mates last night in one of Manc's more trendy parts. A place that serve glorified KFC hawked £7 for chicken nuggets and a couple of sauces, £4.80 for a small tin of what they promised was "American Red Ale". I almost admired their audacity. That's what over £8 a pint give or take without even being on tap, up north and everything. It also tasted rubbish which didn't help matters and they served it by pouring a splosh in tiny dimpled mugs as some sort of hipster affectation and dumping the can down next to it. Anyone experienced anything lamer?

I'd pay that for San Miggy but not this woody tosh. Had a pint of some Red Ale I think made by Harp in Rotherham and that was the best I'd had outside the States.

Biggest beer rip off you've had? on 11:59 - Jul 20 with 5417 views | hype313 | Pretty much any bar that thinks itself as trendy is a rip off. On the other side of that I remember going to Newcastle in the early 90s when my mate was at uni there, and we went to a bar that served shots for 10p. That was messy...

Biggest beer rip off you've had? on 12:00 - Jul 20 with 5396 views | King_of_Portman_Rd | Had a 330ml tin of some brewdog stuff in Bodeans in Soho and paid £6.80 for the privilege. Annoyingly I guzzled it down in 3 gulps and then stubbornly refused to buy anything else to drink and struggled through the final mouthfuls of my Brisket burger, desperate for some refreshment.

Biggest beer rip off you've had? on 12:03 - Jul 20 with 5359 views | SE1blue | Any time you buy a round and someone happily takes one without reciprocating later. Bought a round for sixty quid last week (London) with workmates and only two people bought a pint back. So my 3 pints = twenty quid a pint for me. These are not people I drink with regularly, so no opportunity for it to balance out later. [Post edited 20 Jul 2017 12:04]

Biggest beer rip off you've had? on 12:03 - Jul 20 with 5357 views | Steve_M | A mate and I did pay £4.50 for cans of Taiwanese lager in Bao this week. That was a rip off but then Bao is quite trendy at the moment. It was still better than the Sam Smiths pub next door.

No wonder I hate Qatar! | |

That round sounds remarkably like what Partridge ordered in the Linton travelodge.

Biggest beer rip off you've had? on 12:55 - Jul 20 with 5087 views | GunnsAirkick | I paid £5 for two thirds of a pint of Saison in The Tap House in Norwich. It was 3.8% and tasted like someone had put lavender soap in the beer (I usually like Saison beers), I now avoid that place if I can, so up its own @rse.
Biggest beer rip off you've had? on 12:58 - Jul 20 with 5066 views | backwiththeboysagain | €8 for a coke, €14 for a beer. Plus €18 for a baguette and a macaroon, this was Casino Square in Monte Carlo though.
Biggest beer rip off you've had? on 13:06 - Jul 20 with 5029 views | tcblue | I went to a bar in Riga about a decade ago, it was a great little place, despite it being very cold outside all the ladies were wearing very little more than a fake-looking smile. I ordered a beer and then, out of nowhere some big Russian blokes demanded I buy one of the ladies a drink for an amount of lats which was not in my wallet. I politely declined and paid half of this (about £70 if I recall). Never saw the lady get her half drink

Ridiculous prices in the clubs etc in Ibiza, unless you go to the West End of course!

Biggest beer rip off you've had? on 13:14 - Jul 20 with 4983 views | jayceee | Lol. I feel sorry for you guys in the UK. In South Africa, a normal beer at a restaurant or pub, would be (using today's conversion rate) around £1. At an upmarket, overpriced, trendy place, you'd feel ripped if they charged £2.50. And it'd be slightly more than a pint - 500ml
