I'd certainly eat my moose steak medium-rare.

Tonight I shall be cooking a rare bavette steak with chilli roasted potatoes, portabello mushroom and a rocket and Parmesan salad.

No sauce this evening. If I am saucing then béarnaise is the king of sauces.

Nothing else needed

Still mooing, if possible. And definitely not fillet.

I'm a fan of homemade peppercorn sauce- it's ridiculously easy to make and has a lot more flavour than the packet stuff (surprise, surprise). But good steak is delicious on its own.

Fondant potatoes are a roight clarsy addition in place of chips. Peas are nearly always present too, love 'em.

Medium rare with a béarnaise sauce please.

Always ask for Rare.. Though it often comes a little more done than that, though had quite the shock when I ordered a steak in France and asked for it rare.. They must have literally just chopped it off the bone and shoved it on the plate.

Blue Cheese or Peppercorn.. Though never too much sauce, shouldn't be overly moist

The correct answer is that it depends on the cut. My own preference is ribeye which of course should be medium rare. A blue on the bone steak will be terrible.

Medium rare, pan fried with oil added to the steak and seasoned well.
Tomato's and mushrooms(and asparagus when in season) which soak up and cook in the steak juice. English mustard on the side. Chips or jacket potatoes....job done.

I'd start with 45 minutes on high, then turn, then another 45 minutes.

I like a medium steak (preferably rib eye) served with a stilton sauce.

Steaks have to be with chips, mushrooms and salad.

Rare enough that most people look at me as some sort of beast.

No sauce.

Not adverse to a fried egg on top though.

Salad has no business being on the same plate. If I was over for dinner, and you served that up, I'd be leaving you a 1 star Yelp review.

Who said it was on the same plate?

We are posh and have more than one plate each so it is served on a side plate.

"1*. Every food item was served on a separate plate. Every chip had its own fork, every pea its own silver spoon. Pretension personified. Was charged more than 15.99 + VAT. Waitress/Cook was a bit surly too. Would not recommend".
