I must admit, as an ex lover of Super Mick... 11:03 - Aug 2 with 5378 views | SitfcB | ...I am surprised that we are two days away from the season starting and he hasn’t got a new job. Odds that he gets one around November/December when a team is struggling?? [Post edited 2 Aug 2018 11:03]

I must admit, as an ex lover of Super Mick... on 11:07 - Aug 2 with 4174 views | Darth_Koont | I think he's always going to stand a better chance of getting a job when clubs are staring down the barrel or looking like they're losing their way. Summer appointments seem to be far more about aspirations. Mid-season ones are more about reality. Hopefully Hurst is about both.

I must admit, as an ex lover of Super Mick... on 11:12 - Aug 2 with 4047 views | Mugwump | I think the excellent article linked on here yesterday from Loft for Words sums Mick up quite nicely. "Be careful what you wish for" "But I’d be willing to bet none of those looking down their noses at Town fans for daring to want a bit more than, oh, I don’t know, playing for seven and a half hours at home without scoring a goal, actually had to sit and watch McCarthy’s Ipswich regularly/at all"

I must admit, as an ex lover of Super Mick... on 11:14 - Aug 2 with 4005 views | No9 | There are a ot of unemployed football 'managers' available for hire. Not all have a record of pi$$ing off clubs income stream.
I must admit, as an ex lover of Super Mick... on 11:19 - Aug 2 with 3954 views | FrimleyBlue | Mick imo will struggle to get another job at this level I can see him going to a league 2 club. One thing we know as fact. Attendances dropped considerably under Mick, His style may suit a club who like we were, fighting relegation, but no club with aspirations will touch him.

Although that's not really true. Under Mick's first 3 years he brought fans back and stopped the overall slide that's been going on since Royle. It was the last couple of seasons that really caused the problem - both on and off the pitch.

Wherever Mick ends up, it will be higher than League Two.

I must admit, as an ex lover of Super Mick... on 11:27 - Aug 2 with 3861 views | Guthrum | He might not have wanted any of the jobs on offer over the summer. Remember, he turned down Forest after being sacked by Wolves and it was only some months later he took the position at Ipswich. Desperate clubs may make better offers and, like Warnock, he is good at coming in to sort out a mess.

The decline in average attendances slowed in his first two seasons (from 1.5k per year in the previous two, to under 500), then grew considerably in 2014-15.

Derby I doubt, I don't think they would see him as significant enough- Boro is a possibility, but I doubt Pulis will do too badly there. Leeds and Villa quite possibly

I think if Pulis doesn't cut it they won't go for Mick as a replacement to be honest. [Post edited 2 Aug 2018 12:52]
