Who was the last effective left winger we had?

Bobby Petta?
Clive Woods?

Surely we have had someone since the 90's but struggling to think who

Surprised that PH has not even been linked with a left winger

Thought Roberts showed so much more in 10 minutes than Ward did in the previous 80. In fact i'm still convinced that both Edwards and Ward went off when Roberts came on. Ward was anonymous

Alan Mahon was very good when he was here, gutted we couldn't afford to take him permanently.

Ryan Fraser.

Lawrence wasn't a winger.

RIP Sir Bobby

Reuser wasn't a left winger but was ridiculously good there, obviously.

Darren Currie, slow but skilful with an eye for a goal.

Edwards played on the left at P'boro, and it's his preferred position apparently. I'm surprised we haven't seen him switch over at times.

Typically, Ward gets a battering even though if you looked at the game as a whole he at least was one of our better attacking options last night.

Worked hard on his flank and had a couple of decent runs. What did Nolan, Edwards and Harrison offer?

Me and my mate must've been watching a different game to you. A third mate turned up about 15 minutes late and said "Oh, I see Ward's playing". At that point the two of us watching from the start realised we'd forgotten he was playing as his name hadn't been mentioned.

This pattern continued. I remember a shot on target, a decent freekick where Chambers should've done better with a header, but apart from that I can't really say what Ward did. "Got up the pitch well"?!? What he managed to run forward? Brilliant.

He's a player that regularly flatters to deceive for me. I don't know what some of you see in him.

Didn’t deem to have a conversation about what Harrison, Nolan and Edwards offered in comparison based on last night’s performance? No, because Ward is an easy target and generally it’s more acceptable to slate him because he’s been here longer. He also delivered a couple of decent corners in which we didn’t attack. I get it, you don’t like or rate him as a player, but he can play well and he was one of our better performers, which I appreciate you won’t like to admit. Perhaps you and your mates need to open your eyes more and actually watch games instead of making a judgement about a player even before a ball is kicked in anger?

What a load of old tosh. We judge him on what we see. It has nothing to do with those other three, and I'm happy to have a discussion about them if you want, but I was responding to what I thought were OTT comments on Ward.

The idea that it's more acceptable to slate him because he's been here longer is based on nothing at all, as is the suggestion that me and my mates are judging him before a ball is kicked in anger. Where did you get that from? Lots of balls have been kicked in anger and I haven't mentioned Ward until now.

Bizarre.
