Yeah, I've chased the guy I work to about 2 weeks ago, but he's not in accounts, so limited in what he can do. Part of the bill is for web hosting, so the nuclear option is to turn them off and put a suspended for late payment notice on. | |

Universities and indeed education establishments in general are hopeless payers IME. They probably arent being mendacious although you never know. Worth chasing nicely and resubmitting the invoice if you can afford it before slapping them with something. [Post edited 25 Mar 2019 10:35]

Not at all.
A simple oversight by us.
I've never triggered that penalty clause and have had many late payments. It's petty and silly do so.
We're not running around knocking him but when people ask if who are architect was for a certain project we decline to give their details. That's enough to share that they do not look after their clients.
Question is; did we slap him with a penalty for not doing his job when he failed? No. We just got on with it. | |

I used to work for a big national company. The invoice payment is taken out of the hands of the person who requested the work. It's down to the finance department. I use to make sure all my suppliers were paid pretty quickly. I would have to contact the finance team and get them to get payment on the next run. this is not an easy thing to do in a massive company and I am sure the Uni has some ridiculous system for payment.
Ring your guy, tell him you need the money. Ask him if he can speed it up. It is probably just an oversight. Chase him again. That should work. |  | | |
