Trump acquitted 12:43 - Feb 6 with 9057 viewsThe_Last_Baron

I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned on this political viper's nest of a message board, but thought it was worth testing the views of the woke twtderatti.

I'm not surprised he's been acquitted as it was yet another underhand attempt to undo the election result of 2016 by lunatic Nancy and co. The Democrats should have spent the last 3 years rebuilding and looking ahead optimistically to 2020 with a positive campaign. Their lack of strategy and brains will cost them heavily as Trump romps home once more.

he was acquitted because he is innocent. Pelosi and co like remoaners and leftists over here fail to accept democracy.

That'll be why the Republicans decided not to listen to any evidence then.

He was always going to be acquitted because there was no way that 2/3 of Senate would jeopardize their careers / the party goals to find him guilty.

There are a good number of Republican's that said what he did was wrong - some even going so far as to say it was not acceptable - but they are always looking at the bigger picture - and that is they need Trump in power more than anything else

Privately I am sure a lot of Republican Senators despise the man - but he is their route to power right now so needs to be protected. If they can get another 4 years out of him then they're likely to grab at least one more seat on the Supreme Court and that will protect conservative ideology for decades. They also know that if they vote against him or publicly attack him the he will come back twice as hard and there is a very good chance they will face a well financed primary challenger

He was acquitted because the republicans control the senate.

If we had the same system and BJ was on the chopping block he would be saved as well.

I know i'll take some stick but i'm pleased he's been acquitted. He won the election fair and square (I don't care about the popular vote, everyone knew the rules going in). He should be able to serve his term and then the American people can judge him.

Ffs he tried to use the distribution of govt money to smear an opponent. If you can't see how wrong that is they have got you too

Whilst I agree with your point that the Democrats have not re-organised and come back with a decent candidate/personality (which ultimately is the most important factor these days) and a campaign strategy to unseat Trump - for what should frankly be an easy win - you miss the reality of the 2016 election result and the immediate realisation by the Dems and the more credible media that Trump was going to be everything they feared, and worse.

As a result the Democrats are in a place, with the majority of Americans, that they think Trump is not fit for office and that his presidency is a travesty. They need to move out of that place and realise that a large portion of the population are moronic or are being duped by Trumps falsehoods and the right wing shock jocks and the biased Fox News (oh don't get me wrong the left wing media is biased, but they use facts - indeed there have been schisms at Fox between the news and commentary sides - including walk-outs - as the news side has struggled with the warping of truth).

Now where do you start with how bad Trump is and has been.... its endless, and its deeply damaging over a very long term. Now of course he's got the economy (stupid) improved, hasn't he? well the reality is that the growth trajectory was kicked off under Obama, it has continued under Trump, but he isn't really the catalyst. And indeed may CEOs actively ignore Trump policy, for example the growth in green spending - growing Wind generation,114,000 jobs- Trump hates Wind - “I never understood wind. I know windmills very much, I have studied it better than anybody,”

So these bad Trump actions?.... well its endless, its wide ranging and its deep - pardoning war criminals (in deed exonerating them), rolling back environmental controls, demonising immigrants, denying climate change, the middle east 'peace' deal, his support to the NRA and supporting a gun rush..... where do you stop. Do you know he gave the medal of honour recently to a right wing shock jock - who's a racist!! but who says nice things about Trump - [To an African American female caller]: “Take that bone out of your nose and call me back.” ; "“Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?”... I could go on. Its like us giving a MBE to Tommy Robinson.

Oh don't forget Trump retweeted Katie Hopkins and praised her journalism.

Now of course one of the main reasons the Dems and decent journalists cannot accept Trump and move on from their outrage at him being in the White House... is the LIES. its the falsehoods. And Trump is normalising our leaders lying.. and Farage has normalised it and now our MPs are thinking its OK and that its OK to avoid media scrutiny. Do you know there is a growing trend for the right wing in the UK to use 'Fake News' to challenge any BBC journalists, and indeed more ardent Brexiteers. Dominic Cummings has called the BBC a 'mortal enemy'.... that's how the Trump disease spreads.

Trumps started with one big lie about the number of people at his inauguration... and just hasn't looked back.

So how many lies - well a recent fact checked count - yes a group are taking the time to do it - and guess what? it is 15,413, FIFTEEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED AND THIRTEEN? is that in anyway even in the slightest bit not bat sh!t crazy?

Now to finish my rant..... on the acquittal and the impeachment. Trump's own attorney said this morning that he was actually guilty and it was an abuse of Power, but it was not blackmail or criminal, and impeachment should be reserved for these. The Republicans bar one are riding on Trump's coat tails, and are hiding their true feelings. That is the biggest scandal.. and for one they should be held to account.

Still Trump is acceptable... do some reading of proper journalism, not my ramblings - read the below, its worth it:

this crook was not convicted because witnesses and evidence was withheld

only some right wing loon (you) would find that acceptable

and the irony is that were you or one of your family to find yourself in court on a charge I will bet my life you will want the kind of trial that 'our side' and pretty much the rest of the world expects
