So, in effect, a lockdown under another name on 19:24 - Mar 16 by manchego
I'm not giving anyone any advice. But that bellend Boris is. Remember when herd immunity was a thing ? It's not any more.
Why are schools still open ? "all sorts of reasons" but he doesn't give one.
Isolate but we're not going to insist on it.
Work from home but schools open. Schools shut because no no at home to look after them except for all the people working from home.
Don't go out but no info on help for business owners.
We agree with WHO but doesn't explain the no testing policy.
Brave of you to trust that bellend.
So maybe I should do the opposite of all of those things as you suggest, maybe I should just do what the hell I want and make a complete mockery of what our government is trying to do to safeguard the people of this country.
He is taking advice from medical and scientific experts. Do remind me of your qualifications to give the people better advice other than “Italy have done it differently” because it’s worked out well for them so far hasn’t it?

Germany: 5813 COVID cases 13 dead
Norway 1356 COVID cases 3 dead.
UK 1391 COVID cases 35 dead.
Check out the measures France have announced today.

This would be France that like Italy is way ahead of us, you bring in the measures too soon and people won’t stick to them when they really need to, have you not been listening?

There are at least two possibilities.
1- They got it wrong a few days back and said something unsicentific 2- The scientists suggested a stepped programme (as they have repeatedly suggested)
What is it that makes you assume the former?
You can’t step the principle of how long someone is infectious for. Appreciate they can learn more and if they did I would expect us to be told. 14 days for the repatriated at the start.

Great - don’t go to pubs - he hasn’t told pub to close, what do we do!?
What a mess. I cooked 3 meals all day today, only going to get worse after this tonight. Only me and the other chef are on salary, everybody else is hourly. Everybody in the staff group chat are resigned to being laid off.

Why are they not doing exactly what countries ahead of us on this are doing.
They are giving us a blueprint but we don't appear to want to look at it.
It's almost like we're all different countries at different stages of the crisis, and with different ideas of how to combat something that is unprecedented.
Anyone who's seen me posting on here for like EVER will know I'm no fan of the Tories. But from what I've seen and heard so far I really can't say they've done anything wrong OR right.
I feel like some will just attack them regardless. As I said earlier, I'd feel the same if Labour had taken this approach.

Caliis for starters.
Edit. I'm out of here for the night. We have Callis trying to score political points out of this crisis and Banksy acting like a 6th form agitator.
Meanwhile in the real world I shall call in 15 members of staff tomorrow and lay them off before shutting my business down in the next few days until we are advised differently.

I am sure you will be giving them a share of the accumulated profits they have made for you over the years to tide them over...good man.

So would I.....if that helps.

That's sad to hear Glassers. Must be really tough.

ffs they are all ahead of us on the timeline.
We are literally being shown many different approaches all across the FKN planet and what the different outcomes are.
And we are ignoring all of them.
"yeah but those 2 guys next to Boris sound like they know what they are doing"
I'll say again "ffs"

The TWTD self-appointed topic police and government propaganda wing has signed off for the day.
So are Professor Whitty and Sir Patrick Vallance part of Imperial College or are the government listening to different advisors now? Though both did take part in this afternoon’s press conference so I presume the former.
