Grim.

Am I right this is something yet to be officially (or unofficially) addressed?

I honestly don't want to argue as agreed in the other thread.

There is however really no other way to see the final paragraph you wrote - that is why 3 or 4 other posters made the same point and why you got the downvotes.

If you can't see it's politicising things then not much anyone can do.

I think you can say right now to get through this we are implementing some Labour ideas under a tory government and that's a pretty factual statement.

People go deeper than they need to.

We do this now and have done for decades. It's called 'triage'.

I was going to post that but thought you more up to date than I.

Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me. Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing. Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial. Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid. Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

Tosh.

Stealing Labours ideas would bankrupt us. The Tories are doing the right thing in a measured way.
Follow the science. Listen to the scientists and then act. Rushing and pressing buttons too early is as bad as too late.

You read the Daily Mail. Explains a lot.

I bet Bloots will downarrow this.

No. I linked to a tweet about it.

Why don't you start critically analysing stuff before spouting it on here? You've been proven to be wrong so many times because you seem to just believe everything you read. In fact, are you my dad?

Whatever side of the fence you sit on politically (and I proudly sat in neither camp in December), SURELY we're all f*cking smart enough to realise we're operating in a materially different landscape than the one we were planning for 4 months ago.

Those headlines were from before the crisis. The Dr Feelgood one relates to the budget.

Frankly I think it's outrageous that neither major party spelled out how they would respond to an imminent global pandemic.

No need to not have some of those things stay in place when this is over though. Particularly as we see how truly vulnerable some people in society are. The reality of having not enough to live is suddenly a much larger consideration for many, but some have been in said boat for a while.

It references it but the crisis has moved on massively in 6 days. The budget was also 6 days ago and the article relates to that.

I wasn't having a pop at what the government have done since the worsening of the crisis, which on the whole I think has been very good.

Your exact words were the headlines were from before the crisis. Certain measures in the budget were a very direct response to what was unfolding, and that was referenced throughout the headline. If you think the circumstances 6 days ago weren't unprecedented given what was happening in Italy and already happening here then you're wrong. This thing spiked here on 21st Feb.

I think we agree that the Daily Mail is utter scum, and personally I would take greater exception with having a Corbyn article directly under a notorious murderer. That sh1t ain't accidental.

It spiked on 21st Feb?! I was at ITFC v Oxford on the 22nd. Since then all football has been called off and people told not to even go to the pub.

Nevertheless I wasn't comparing Labour's plans to the Tories Coronavirus plans (which have changed massively since the budget). I was merely making the point that Labour's spending plans were said to "bankrupt" the country, while the Tories very similar budget outlined "feelgood" spending.

And yes, you're probably right about the Corbyn article being directly under a headline that says 'My Life Of Evil."

I bet Bloots will downarrow this.

I am going to copy and paste a facebook post. This is from a friend, and it concerning her husband, so I know it is genuine.

“I’m so glad I no longer work for the NHS my 83 year old husband who was sent home in November too early and nearly died twice because of it has just been given a letter saying they will take legal action if he doesn’t leave the ward after tomorrow even though there is nobody home to look after him . He can’t walk up a flight of stairs he is so weak having lost 5 stone in weight but that doesn’t matter they need his bed for the corona virus victims . I might add two days ago I was advised not to visit his ward as he had a chest infection and the flu ,suddenly he’s fit to come home .”

She has toned this down somewhat from her original post. Guess this is the sort of thing Callis is expecting.
