Exactly. The hypocrites next door, making THE most noise when they are the ones that go out for the sakes of it and have people round the most. It IS all "look at us! we care more than that cow next door! She doesn't even come out to clap! (Yes because it is TOO close to where YOU all are)". Honking the van horn, the kid banging a saucepan lid, her whooping, waving at the neighbours like celebrities.
I did clap for the first 3 weeks but didn't bother last night and we did it outside our back door in the garden - but people didn't see us so we did it cos we WANTED to, not as some kind of judgment to others that we care or not. |  | | |

Last week they had cameras at the main hospital in Norwich. Assorted NHS staff stood shoulder to shoulder clapping back.
Someone needs to put a stop to it. Doorstep or window only. No NHS staff to respond.
Why do people think they have immunity. A friend who works at a London hospital regularly posts, on Facebook, a group photo of the staff on their COVID-19 ward prior to shift. Calls it team spirit/ togetherness. |
It seems to have become an uncontrollable media event, fuelled by news channel with nothing good to report & social media. While a few hundred people (assuming that is an accurate number) behaving stupidly is bad enough, the irony is that many of them seem to be the essential workers whom we are trying to protect. A terrible message as the pressure grows to ease the lockdown.
It needs to end; maybe the CEO of the NHS could see the sense in doing this as the government won't want to be seen as Scrooge & cancelling Christmas. |  |

You'd like to think the media would instead be reinforcing the NHS' message, in that although they appreciate the support they'd much rather people stayed at home. Probably doesn't make for that last item good news stroy then, or something. |  |

This applause nonsense has outstayed its welcome. The first week was fine, now it's tedious and achieves nothing but winding the public up. People have been cooked up in their flats and houses for weeks and they see this lot acting like pr1cks and then ask what's the point. |

Completely agree these people should not be doing that but London has gone from a peak of 6 thousand people in hospital to just over 3 thousand in 2 or 3 weeks so I don't think some form of exit from the current lockdown (obviously phased) is that far away |  |
