This is probably the only actual “punk” album I’ve carried on listening to past my teens/twenties. Still listen to tracks from punk bands but almost never whole albums.

Anything by Patti Smith or the New York Dolls
People are going to argue that not everything Patti Smith has done is punk or that the New York Dolls did was punk in a musical sense but both had a challenging attitude that set them apart from the music scene they found themselves in and that eventually won over detractors of all sorts of hues.
From a punk...slight return era but still, for my money, the best balance between three chord musical mayhem, great songs and ease of accessibility to the non-hardcore listener I settle for Dookie.

Pre American Idiot (arguably pre-Warning) Green Day was great.
Would argue Green Day are Pop Punk though.
There’s the main challenge, Punk is a collection of subgenres in itself and that line blurs as to what it is/isn’t all the time.
