Not sure I've ever seen a lower blow from any elected representative. She's clearly using an out of context clip of Starmer talking about and condemning previous actions in the grooming gangs scandal and presenting it as if he's advocating them.
Edit: As the coward has now protected her tweets, a link to what she retweeted is below.
Imagine being so rattled that you're willing to twist a story about abused children to make a party political point.

Voting records never tell the whole story. MP’s are whipped and unless you are a serial rebel like, Jezza was under Blair and Brown, then you’ll vote with the party.
Yiu won’t find a bigger one nation Torynthan Ken Clarke and his voting record will be similar to Sunak’s. As with Rory Steward, Dominic Grieve, David Gauke etc.
I accept that Sunak is relatively unknown though.
Mendoza is one of those who is currently smearing Starmer as being in the pocket if the Zionists.

Yeah that's a decent point about the voting record, I still think that moderate Tories should be standing up against things like disability cuts but not really worth arguing over on here.
Yeah her twitter's proper conspiracy/crank stuff. She was in a zoom call recently with Chris Williamson and said something about the Anti-semitism "witch hunt" targeting black women. Someone responded saying how she was good at calling out the real racists, so I replied asking if she'd called out herself, and I got blocked... Shame, as her tweets were good for the comedy value, despite the nasty intentions behind the,.
This accusation is sensational and will grab the headlines for a short while. The inevitable exposure of these lies will not be sensational and will be missed by most, leaving the overall impression that Starmer is a wrong 'un. Caulfield knows that and has done this dirty deed because of it.
If this does flare up, a Labour back-bencher will be primed with an artfully worded request that boris rebukes this mp, refers her to the Parliamentary Standards Committee etc. boris will, of course, balls up his answer.
Yep, I've thought for a while that Johnson won't be in charge for the next election - that will involve him being accountable for all of his undeliverable promises. I reckon in a year or two's time we'll see him resign to spend time with his family, and hand over to Sunak or Gove.
As you say, Johnson had an easy ride up against the worst Labour and Lib Dem leaders we've ever had and had the fortune of being able to push through a Brexit deal that didn't contain many of the promises he made in 2016, purely because people were tired of the whole thing.
Sunak does seem to be on the left of the party economically and his budget was relatively interventionist, but I don't get this "One Nation" stuff. If you look at his record, he's voted for cuts to benefits and support for disabled people so has a history of voting for hard right economic policies.
Yeah that account looks like a cesspit. As for the Canary, I got blocked on twitter by Kerry Ann Mendoza the other week, which I'm a bit proud of myself for.
I think voting records are overplayed as a way to get the measure of someone - they aren't independent MPs and they will vote for the party line in most cases. They may make their case in private but almost every MP will look bad with selected voting records with no context of how the votes took place.

Nadine Dorries has joined in as well.
Johnson should chuck Dorries, Allan and Caulfield out of the party. But we know he won't, because he doesn't have the moral high ground from which to sack anyone for dishonesty.
The Conservative Party is a ruthless political machine, and, aided and abetted by the predominately right wing press, you can expect a lot more of this kind of stuff directed at Keir Starmer over next couple of years. Sadly, I've come to the conclusion that we now live in what is effectively a one party state and i can see no change to this situation in the foreseeable future.

Having their outriders spread fake news and doctored stuff is one thing, but when the actual party are doing - after they had a rebuke for doing so in the election campaign with James Cleverly shows how bankrupt their morales are as a party.
I am sure that the media will pick up on it shortly. And that the good folks of TWTD have media connections or a willingness to make contact if not...
And the deluded and gullible will shout about biased and fake news (whilst sharing doctored video clips).
This is why the tories have so relentlessly waged war on the BBC, even their legally mandated balanced reporting can be dismissed by the idiots.
We become more like Trump’s America every day.
I’ve always thought that, whilst I disagree with them politically, the overwhelming majority of Tories were fundamentally decent people. I’m afraid that anyone continuing to support the blue team now has abandoned any shred of decency.

It's one thing unhinged backbenchers circulating this sort of material but Dorries is ( somewhat unbelievably) a Minister of State in the Department of Health

She appears to have suddenly changed her twitter settings so only "approved followers" can see them.
Utterly disgraceful and she should resign.
No chance. The notion that she has sufficient conscience to to understand what she's done is wrong and should have consequences is outdated (sadly). It'll never happen, as the's only following the precedents of her boss and other senior cabinet minister.
If it's a non-parliamentary position, like the SAGE adviser or Scottish CMO breaking lockdown, they're out like a shot. When it comes to MPs and the cabinet they're untouchable (bar maybe a little break to let things cool off). We've got a PM who deliberately misleads the house and illegally shut it down, a Home Sec who previously made up her own foreign policy on the hoof and continually faces bullying allegations, etc.. There are no consequences for those with the power anymore and they lack the moral fibre to police themselves.
Here's a copy of the email I sent to the Conservatives' complaints email address. I know I have too much time on my hands, but the use of such a sensitive case to spread disinformation by people who represent us in parliament is horrendous. I'm sure it'll fall on deaf ears.
Dear whomever it may concern
It was drawn to my attention this morning that 3 of your Members of Parliament, Lucy Allan, Maria Caulfield and Minister Nadine Dorries had retweeted an edited video of comments made by the Leader of the Opposition during his time as the Director of Public Prosecutions in which he appeared to defend the mistakes of the authorities during the grooming gangs scandal. However, it became apparent that Mr Starmer was not defending these mistakes, but was in fact condemning them and demonstrating the changes he would make to the process in future. Yet no mention of this was forthcoming from any of the 3 MPS.Â
This is fundamentally dishonest, and goes against the sixth of your 7 principles of public life, as stated on your website.Â
6. Honesty — Holders of public office should be truthful.
Additionally, I do not believe it worthy of parliamentary members of the party of government to be spreading such misinformation, particularly regarding such a sensitive case, and appearing to use it for political gain. Not only does it damage the reputation of a fellow parliamentarian, it is harmful to democracy.Â
I propose the following steps:
1) All MPs responsible to delete their tweets, offer apologies and upload the full version of Mr Starmer's comments, which I will link below.Â
2) Failing that, a withdrawal of the whip.Â
Here is the link to the full interview, which I propose Lucy Allan, Maria Caulfield and Nadine Dorries should upload, alongside full apologies:Â

"almost every MP will look bad"
Only if their party has bad policies, which you have to presume they generally agree with as members of that party.
I would imagine that in general MPs from two parties generally come out looking bad, while the rest not so much (on most topics anyway).

Incredible that they will be allowed to get away with this.
Even if they are caught bang to rights, many of their voters won't care.
In 2018 the Mansfield MP had to publish an apology on Twitter after defaming Corbyn. He increased his majority from 1,000 to 16,000 at the next election.
