Mate, it's bad because those on the right have spent the last four years cheerleading for a lying, raping, self-enriching, barely literate, racist, homophobic, transphobic, Islamophobic, anti semitic, anti-disabled, anti-native American, anti-immigrant, draft dodging, military insulting, misogynistic, Alt Right, corrupt, America betraying, pro Putin, pro Saudi, pro conspiracy theory, cheat on his wife with a porn star while pregnant all round piece of shït fraudster with a confirmed mushroom penis* who has been masquerading as a world leader. There's no debating those people.

Not to put words on J2's mouth, but I'd imagine he meant something along those lines.

Obama to address the USA across all networks tonight on 21:48 - Jun 4 by Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior

It’s the usual way to praise what was left or blame what was left form the previous administration is the way in politics. Trump has been doing it since March with the virus but the economic growth and unemployment levels across the board here have been very good under his guise whether people admit it or not.

On Obama and guns, I thought Sandy Hook might have been the watershed moment, it was not. It is easy to say it’s just Republicans blocking all this but actually the Democrats have been internally squabbling over it for years and if they had more of a collective stance behind it maybe we could have seen some change. He never put forward any measures before being elected nor did he campaign on them. He tried after a few mass shootings during his time in office, so he actually began his gun control push from a position of weakness!

It's easy to say that it's Republicans blocking gun reform because it's true.

They're all bought and paid for and compromised by the NRA. The Republicans had control of the Executive, Senate and House simultaneously during these last four years. What did Trump, McConnell and Ryan get done despite overseeing several mass shootings?

Fúck all. Thoughts and prayers though right?

Is this the same Trump and same economy that was pushed to the brink of recession over a pointless trade war?

Keep sipping the Kool Aid.

I see the Obama points are not answered but the Trump one on the economy is challenged, ok. Having worked and lived here for the duration of his administration and with a fair bit of exposure to the market I can confirm until March it has not been on the brink of a recession. The GDP has grown (just like it did under Obama especially in 2014). The Dow has reached record heights as well. Unemployment was extremely low. It all seems about depressing debating it now given the current state since COVID.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one.

Or you could just be more attentive.

Then you will be saying exactly the same thing.

That's all it takes. Forget the left and right thing and focus on what's right and what's wrong.

You will start to notice that 'being left', ( whatever that is), seems to coincide with giving a sh1t about other people.

It's funny how it begins to add up after a while.

I said right wing podcasts. I assumed people would think I meant far right, hence the disclaimer.

You measure economic success, as Trump does, on stock market performance. You might want to research why that may not be a great indicator.

About the same as Obama (actually he banned bump stock). Most of the Democrats voted against Obama’s legislation as well post Sandy Hook. He never campaigned on it and tried to get serious when it was too late. A unified Democrat party showing some sensible reforms is American’s best hope.

1) It's not an outburst, it's a list of facts.

2) Not rating Obama as president after suffering through the current shower is like complaining about standing in dog shÏt while the dog attacks your family.

3) You would have to ask J2. I doubt there's much if anything he'd disagree with in my post though.

4) Because of work and family.

That was one of the points. I also measured it on GDP growth and unemployment (got down to 3.6%) and you’ve come back with nothing apart from his business failures as a person years ago. I guess from a personal perspective I’ve measure it on my business growth as well which until a few months ago was great since 2014.

Wrong.

If you're talking about the 2013 assault weapons ban then 15 Democrats voted against it. 44 Republicans and 1 Independent also voted it down. Even if those 15 Democrats had voted for the bill it still wouldn't have passed.

Those 15 Democrats were representing seats like Alaska, Arkansas, the Dakotas. Largely red states and they were worried about losing their seats. You could say that those 15 Democrats were cowardly and the Democratic party needs fewer members like that. The other argument of course is Democrats needed the Senate seats, and those members were in a tough spot. A Democrat voter in California and a Democrat voter in Montana are very different beasts.

So, no, it wasn't most Democrats who voted it down. Not remotely. Can we please deal in facts.

So your counter is that your business has done well? Great.

Unemployment was dropping in every country pretty much pre-crisis, thanks in part to low wages, weaker currencies and increased demand.

America was on the brink of recession thanks to the trade war. Read.

For someone so apparently anti-Trump, you aren't half doing a job going to bat for him. Me thinks the lady doth protest too much.

Let me explain. Obama is a decent human being with good morals and principles.
Trump is a self hating everyone else hating, racist, sexist psychopath who has done his best to destroy the notion of international cooperation. He lies continuously and his abysmal leadership regarding Covid 19 will cost thousands of lives.
Still if your business has done well under his leadership then that's all good!

No it wouldn't. They didn't have the numbers. The bill needed 60 votes to pass. The ayes only had 40.

40 + 15 = 55.

They needed the Republicans to get it across the line. Only one single Republican voted for it - Mark Stephen Kirk.

So, yet again the Republicans were limpdicked on gun control.

Again, let's deal in facts.

Much as I’m very much in agreement about the relative merits of the last 2 presidents, this is an interesting point, and not one that I had appreciated before.

Would any of the failed gun legislation have gone through with 100% democrat support? If so, it’s a reasonable question to ask of Obama.
